Re: Post your longest apnea events....
My longest during first sleep study was 87 seconds (multiple in that range throughout the night). Since using the cpap, I think the longest I've seen in the Resmed software are some Central's around 30+ seconds. Most are in the 10-18 range.

Re: Swift FX causing painful nostrils - any suggestions?
I had the same problem getting used to the FX. It took weeks of switching sizes and tweaking tension on straps. As soft as the silicone is, if the edge presses against the skin for hours, it feels like a blade. I now have it dialed in, and just received a new mask which took only minutes to adjust. ...

Re: Are these CA's any concern?
My stats are really strange with CA's also. I now have my OA's down to under 1. But the machine records CA's ranging from 6-40. Usually they are under 10 for a few weeks, then all of a sudden they'll climb up to 40 and back down again during a week. The high CA's are usually accompanied by greater t...

Re: Sleep medicaton with sleep apnea
If I had my druthers, I'd rather not be so sensitive to drug side effects. But I am and I have to live with it as best I can. robysue, Sorry if my comment seemed pointed. It was not aimed at you or anyone in particular. Just my personal outlook. I know every body is different. I'm half broken mysel...

Re: Sleep medicaton with sleep apnea
I believe life is too short to do everything "natural." And those afraid of modern medicine should not be using a CPAP machine either. After struggling for almost 6 months to get used to this thing (and get some real sleep), my doctor prescribed Ambien. All I can say is WOW. I'm finally sleeping wit...

Re: humidifier rate?
I have the S9 Elite and quit trying to find the right moisture point. I now just leave it on Auto Climate Control and set the temp to be comforable.

Re: S9 machines?
I'm relatively new this year also. My doctor just spec'd the S9 Elite as his standard baseline. It is as silent as can be (my wife can't hear it). Make sure you get the heated hose to go with it (eliminates any hose condensation). Although, I think I paid more than retail when all was done. I have a...

Re: Nasal Pillow Tickles Nose
Yup, for me it was the trimming. Have to do it at least once a week. I found the straight saw blade type works better than the round kind. Better found in search engines as an "eyebrow trimmer."

Re: Mike and molly
I was watching the Mike and Molly show off the DVR late at night durring an insomnia episode. I was all hosed up and just starting to get dozy when that bit came on. It made me laugh and make all kinds of weird noises through the hose. Unfortunately the laughter brought the insomnia back full swing.

It's a monster HMO. They have more legs than a centipede, but every step is an "independent" entity (owned by them).

Re: Ridiculous quotes and deeds by doctors and DMEs
My dumb and dumberer experience this summer. Needless to say, I am now my own doctor. First follow up visit at the second location that I have met the Doc. Way out of the way. Doc: Everything looks great, but I need to see you in 3 months so we have more data to go over. It must be at my third offic...

Re: Another Swift FX question
I know I'm not using the "Her" version, but still the FX. I had to switch between the small and medium every couple of nights for almost a month. I finally landed on the medium. It took that long before I got it dialed in with the right size, pressure my face could take without discomfort, and best ...

Re: Oximeter Reviews/Recommendations?
I just started using the CMS-50E. The software is pretty basic and not very intuitive. But you can't beat the price on a budget. It has told me what I wanted to know. I also have an SPO-CheckMate that I bought years ago for aviation use, but does not store or record the data.

I know my Doc only uses the compliance data for billing justification. Sad, really. But that is modern medicine.

On my S9 you can change the mask type from the User Menu also. Faster to get into.
