Humidifier question...

For a couple months now, I've been convinced that my humifier wasn't working properly. Almost every morning I wake up very dry. Some mornings I don't. The plate always heats up, although it seems takes a lot longer than it used to. It goes through water like it always has but every couple of weeks o...

Re: Marks on the Face

Hi Karen. Been using my Padacheek mask liner for a few nights and so far so good. It doesn't do a lot more for me than the RemZZZs do in terms of marks but it helps. What I like about it is the material. It's comfortable and seems very durable. It's nice not to have to change it every night like the...

Re: Lost 75 pounds- Apnea not better, Mask doesnt fit

Just a little update since last post. It turns out I have alopecia areata that I've probably had since I hit puberty it just didn't present itself until the physical stress of rapid weight loss triggered. I was skeptical at first but now hairless patches are appearing in my beard and my other hair k...

Re: Lost 75 pounds- Apnea not better, Mask doesnt fit

Hey but on the plus side you lost 75 pounds.. that's great! (assuming it was there to lose and was lost in a healthy fashion I guess.. Pretty sure I'd have to amputate a couple legs to get results like that.. ) And I agree that weight can play a factor but not be the culprit.. In one of my sleep la...

Re: Lost 75 pounds- Apnea not better, Mask doesnt fit

DIz', Wondering if you would mind letting us in on how you lost so much weight. From your description of the aftereffects/side effects, it sounds like maybe that's a method that others should be aware of. Yes I would like to caution anyone here who may be thinking of committing themselves to a diet...

Re: Lost 75 pounds- Apnea not better, Mask doesnt fit

I can't help with a FFM that doesn't leak, as I had the same problems. You need to keep looking for an answer to why you're losing weight "no matter how much (you) eat". That doesn't happen unless something is out of wack, and that "something" may explain many of your problems--the hair, skin, weig...

Re: Lost 75 pounds- Apnea not better, Mask doesnt fit

Allen- Thanks for the reply. I see you too are from upstate NY. I'm from Binghamton, went to school in Syracuse, and now live and work in Poughkeepsie. Anyway yes it was essentially a crash diet. I wasn't starving myself or taking diet pills or anything but I was only taking in about a quarter of th...

Lost 75 pounds- Apnea not better, Mask doesnt fit

I'm sure for most of you, a doctor has told you that if you lose weight it will help or even eliminate your OSA. And while I'm sure this is true in many cases, it sure isn't in my case. I recently lost 75 lbs (or just over 34kg for my Eurofriends) and my apnea is no better. In fact, it seems worse b...

Re: Marks on the Face

Thank you to Outasync and PJ the DJ for the replies. I ordered a Padacheek mask liner today. It's worth a shot. The reason I ask what it's made of is that the website won't tell you. It says 'Would you ask Colonel Sanders for his recipe?'. LOL! I'm not trying to steal their recipe. I've been having ...

Re: Marks on the Face

Hey all I'm new here but I wish I would've found this place years ago when I started CPAP therapy. Anyway I too have problems with marks on my face. They used to go away within a couple hours. But lately I've developed what seems to be a permanent double wrinkle along my nose where one side of my Mi...
