Re: New TSA rules?
Just got back from a trip and neither airport checked my machine. The first said they've stopped checking newer machines as they're mostly plastic now and easily scanned. The second airport (Las Vegas) didn't even bother picking it up, just left it in the tray and didn't say a word. NICE! Yes, my u...

Re: how much distilled water a week do you all use?
I've been on CPAP for about a month and have used about 2 gallons of distilled water. Add in some nights with tap water and I'm up to probably 2-1/2 gallons a month. I have the CPAP set for 78 degrees and it generally drains the humidifer tank every night.

Re: use Tubing Wrap for S9 ClimateLine or not?
I don't think there's much risk to covering the hose but if the hose breaks and exposes the electrical heater element to the cover, it's a potential fire hazard. I say potential only because you have an electrical and a heat element in contact with a material that can burn. I think the temparture o...

Re: answer from Resmend service
Well, I have had a phonecall with Resemd service Germany, service sad to me: 'Technically, nothing prevents the breathing tube/hose to be covered with a tubing wrap.' The service also said: 'There are differents in instruction manuals for Australia, Europe, Germany, and Amerika! In very hot lands, ...

Re: Another question about Resmed S9 filters
I recently bought a package of the cpap.com generic filters for the Resmed S9. I have noticed that one side is smooth and the other side is a bit more textured. What side should be facing in towards the machine? Thanks! I think the textured side should face the air-flow, the smooth side should face...

Re: Resmed H5i humidifier questions
My S9 auto came w/the attachable humidifier. The plastic box for the water is sealed and won't open which means you can't really dry it out. Is this a problem eventually w/slimy stuff growing inside or ???? Do you guys take your plastic box out of the metal part of the humidifier when its not in us...

Re: Electric service discount for medical equipment
I spoke with SRP, my electric company this morning. The Medical Life Support discount is in no way related to income -- there are no income qualifications that have to met to receive the discount. There is a form for the physician to complete and a copy of the CPAP prescription must be included. sa...

Re: Resmed H5i humidifier questions
I have my H5i set for 77 degrees in a room thats probably 73 degrees at night. My DME told me to set it near the tempature of the room but when I did that I noticed dry, cracking lips and drymouth. I reset it to 77 and it seems to keep things moist (but not unpleasant). You'll have to play with it a...

Re: Im a "stomach sleeper"! What Mask should I use?
I currently use a profile lite mask, but just wondered if there was something different that would work better. Thanks, Joe Joe, I'm a stomach and side sleeper also. I find the Resmed Mirage Quattro to work out pretty nicely. I also have a CPAP pillow (https://www.cpap.com/productpage/bicor-process...

CPAP pressure slacking off throughout the night?
I've been using single pressure CPAP for about two weeks now. I have a little ramp of about 5 minutes before it reaches my pressure of 12 cm. I've been noticing that when I wake up in the morning, the mask isn't leaking (by touch / feel) but the pressure does not feel as strong. When I first fall as...

Re: Safe during a thunderstorm?
Yes, I think it's safe to be hosed up during a thunderstorm. The Mirage Quattro mask has a little plastic flap in it (at the connection to the hose) that closes on the hose if there is no pressure (such as a power outage). This will allow almost full external air relief and you will not suffocate. I...

Thanks Rooster & jdm,
I was able to sleep all the way through last night and didn't take my mask off until I was getting up.

shutting off CPAP midway through sleep
Hi all, I've only been using CPAP for about a week. Out of the past 5 nights, my machine has said I've done 5.5 hours, 7.0 hours, 5.5 hours, 4.1 hours, 5.4 hours of CPAP. All of those times, I have fallen asleep with the machine on and then after about 3 hours, I woke up "enough" and my mind was tri...
