I should add that I'm new at this and have been self-titrating in straight CPAP mode and have never had a real sleep study.

The erratic SpO2 could be due to my entering REM sleep at the same time the mask came off (i.e., just a coincidence).

Apap machines are wildly inaccurate in their determination of obstructive or central events. They should only be used for novelty purposes sadly. I think that we are still a good ten or fifteen years away from having devices which are capable of recognizing actual events. Until then it is all guess...
