It's actually brand new. They sell some used *machines* (as well as new ones), but all the masks are new.

Re: I'm back and I'm whining

Since you've been using nasal pillows, one of the hybrids might be a good choice. The Hybrid was my fourth mask after a couple nasal masks and a nasal pillow mask. I often have problems with nasal congestion and rarely made it through the night with the first three. Made it through an entire night t...

Re: Nostrils wrong shape for nasal pillows!

The Swift LT's pillows can be turned around, if needed, to accommodate nares that are \ / or / \.... mine are more like the latter and I get a great seal. I don't think the FX allows that.....or someone correct this if I am wrong. The FX pillow unit can be attached to the side straps upside down. T...

Re: THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE

I have brand-new Hybrid small and medium nasal and oral pillows/cushions available. I would like to trade for sets of large nasal and large oral pillows/cushions. Please feel free to PM me, thanks! EDIT: still have the small nasal pillows, the small oral cushion, and the medium oral cushion. The med...

Re: New Pressure and CMS-50E

Hi Greg, I have the same pulse-ox and have never used the alarm feature. What I do is tape it to my finger with blue painter's (masking) tape, putting one piece around the device to squeeze it down a bit on the finger. I put a second long piece of tape along the length of the device and my finger, s...

Re: Oxygen Levels W/O CPAP

Good points, HoseCrusher.

I should add that I'm new at this and have been self-titrating in straight CPAP mode and have never had a real sleep study.

The erratic SpO2 could be due to my entering REM sleep at the same time the mask came off (i.e., just a coincidence).

Re: Oxygen Levels W/O CPAP

I posted this earlier, but it may be pertinent here: http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/5765/spo2h.jpg My mask came off at 3:37 AM (open red arrow - sorry, I cut off the time line and pulse, but it's from around 11 PM to 6 AM). You can see the difference clearly, I think. My pulses was slightly more...

It's not a fair hunt until the poor elks can get solar-powered CPAP machines, too.

Re: baseline air flow rate determination?

I'm not depending on the APAP algorithm for therapy. I'm using the APAP machine in CPAP mode and looking at the data and wondering what baseline it's using to score my apneas and hypopneas. My main criteria for successful therapy are how I feel during the day, and my nocturnal SpO2. The machine's sc...

Re: baseline air flow rate determination?

Apap machines are wildly inaccurate in their determination of obstructive or central events. They should only be used for novelty purposes sadly. I think that we are still a good ten or fifteen years away from having devices which are capable of recognizing actual events. Until then it is all guess...

Re: baseline air flow rate determination?

I think this is covered in this: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t55680/APAP-webinars--new-with-improved-sound.html#unread Thank you, Katie. I'm familiar with these webinars. If they use a 3 minute moving average (or whatever) of air flow, but you fall asleep and into apnea quickly, that would se...
