How Can I Clean the Interior Fan Area of the ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet?
I have had an ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet for more than 5 years. Lately, I've noticed a musty odor, especially when first starting the therapy at night. When I disconnected the hose, I noticed small dark particles that seemed to be a kind of mold on the unit's air output connector. I cleaned that con...

Re: Auto Shutoff Stops Working After Mask & Hose Replacement
The mask, elbow, and hose were the only items replaced. As far as I could tell, they were IDENTICAL to the previous items. Hoses were both slimline. I tried another elbow, and the still had the same symptoms. The new mask was placed open side up on the unit, as it was before the items were replaced....

Auto Shutoff Stops Working After Mask & Hose Replacement
So how do I restore the auto shutoff function on my Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset? It no longer works since I installed replacement gear from Apria.

Re: How should I adjust my CPAP unit to minimize snoring?
Thanks, Pugsy. I'll see if raising the min pressure helps. I don't quite understand how this CPAP machine works, but I think it's supposed to automatically adjust the pressure. In the morning, it usually says a pressure of about 8.0 was created. So is there any way to adjust how that automatic syste...

How should I adjust my CPAP unit to minimize snoring?
I've been successfully using a CPAP machine for about 7 years now. I originally got a sleep test because I could hear my snoring as I was trying to fall asleep, and that would wake me up. Now, however, the snoring issue has returned to a certain extent. My question is what adjustment would deal with...

Re: How Often Do I REALLY Need To Change Water In Reservoir?
I better sum this up before trolls like Mr Grumpy ruin it. (there, you got noticed, lonely as^hole!!) It seems like if I don't develop any symptoms, and no film or discoloration appears in the chamber, that I can fill the chamber and let it get close to empty in 2 or 3 days before emptying, cleaning...

How Often Do I REALLY Need To Change Water In Reservoir?
So I just got a Resmed Airsense 10, and like it a lot. But what concerns me is that the rep who set it up for me said I had to change the water in the humidifier reservoir EVERY DAY! She said there would otherwise be a chance of respiratory infection because of my exhaled breath contaminating the wa...

Re: Expiratory Pressure Relief settings for ResMed AirSense 10
Ok. So originally, the device was in Auto pressure mode, the Max Pressure was (8), and Min Pressure (5). I turned EPR on, and set it to 2. Then I set the Max Pressure (10), and Min Pressure still (5) = since it can't go below 4. Does this seem like a good place to start?

Re: Expiratory Pressure Relief settings for ResMed AirSense 10
Thanks so much for your reply. You say, "so, to prevent apneas there, you'd need to raise your pressure to 9, epr 1." My concern is, though, that the AirSemse 10 isn't normally set to an exact pressure, but automatically finds the correct one, supposedly. So would it automatically compensate for the...

Expiratory Pressure Relief settings for ResMed AirSense 10
Need help setting up my EPR settings for ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset. This machine replaces a Remstar Plus C-Flex, which was able to lower the pressure during exhale to make that easier. The Remstar was set to 8, with a minimum of 5, and just ramped up top that level. The AirSense 10, however, is sup...

Which Mask Do You Like Better?
I want to use a mask that covers both my nose and mouth, but is not as bulky as a full-face mask. I'm trying to decide between these two masks: Resmed Mirage Liberty - https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed-mirage-liberty-full-face-cpap-mask-nasal-pillows-with-headgear.html InnoMed Hybrid - https:/...

Re: LOTSA QUESTIONS FROM A NEWBIE
Thanks for all the thoughtful replies. I think I've finally got a workable setup now. Used the Swift LT nasal pillow (no option for it in the equipment list) with a chin strap, and it worked OK last night. Almost feel like my old self, which was not that great to begin with! However, I have been exp...

LOTSA QUESTIONS FROM A NEWBIE
Looks like I just joined the wonderful world of Apnea/Hypopnea sufferers. Please help me figure this stuff out: 1. Should I try to use nose pillows or a mask? What are the upsides and downsides of each? 2. Do I REALLY, REALLY have to clean the hose, mask, and water reservoir EVERY DAY?! 3. My sleep ...
