Re: Can intense air inflow hurt you?
I am pretty new as well but I hate to tell you that a pressure of 4.0 is not very intense. I think that 4.0 is as low as a cpap machine goes. Is it possible that your machine starts at 4.0 and then rise? The gasping is most likely still your apnea and your pressure may not be correct. My pressure is...

Re: 4 year old update
I have two boys and I would be heart broken if they had to go through what I am with apnea, I am a special education teacher and just have a soft heart for kids. Hang in there mom sounds like you are on the ball.
Take care

Re: my new machine my new friend
John that is exacty what the RT said, so we are going to look at the data in two weeks. Last night was a good night when I looked at the machine it was only at 12cm and my therapy hours were 7.9 out of 8.1 that I ran the machine. THAT was amazing since I only had 68 threrapy hours from Sept. 6 until...

my new machine my new friend
Just got back from picking up my bipap. The RT has a brain and compassion, she said she was so excited to work with someone that was willing to educate themselves and to take charge of their treatment. My RX was for 22 over 16, she recommended that we set the machine to auto and look at the data tog...

Re: Nasal Pillows for Bipap
I tried the resmed mask that went over the mouth and had nasal pillows, I need to see what the name of that was. Ok tried the Liberty, I really liked it so bummed the tech said it didn't work, it had to work somewhat I was in REM when she woke me up.

Re: Nasal Pillows for Bipap
I am also interested in the experience other bipap users have had with them, I really found the hybrid mask I tried my last study comfortable and I thought effective but the tech came in and said that it was leaking...seriously I was in REM could not have been leaking that bad. She was so sure that ...

3rd sleep study :(
Just got back from my third sleep study. We tried so many masks and went back to the quattro but it still leaked. They put me on a bipap this time but becasue the techs are not allowed to discuss my treatment with me, I have very little information. I kept asking her what is my pressure at? she told...

Re: Any one in the STL area?
So far I have only met once and talked to three different docs on the phone and a fellow, two different nurses, and I am scheduled for my third sleep study, I just don't know if that is par for the course, I went with Barnes because I feel like they are the best of the best.
