Re: Use of vaporizing menthol in CPAP machine
Glad you folks are discussing this as my thoughts were starting to turn towards the possibility of adding something to my humidifier. I like the cotton ball idea and the control it gives of being able to "shut it off" by moving it away. I have read the various answers from several people recommendi...

Use of vaporizing menthol in CPAP machine
I have experienced a debilitating cold during the past week with hacking cough that won't quit and that nothing seems to cure. I am thinking of adding a vaporizing menthol to the water of my CPAP machine. It seems to me to be a reasonable thing to do although I am concerned about keeping the menthol...

Re: Pressure upon waking up in the morning
Since you're asking this question, I presume you're not using software to see what's happening during the night and how your therapy is working. If you would use the software and download your data, you would probably find out why it seems "high". What are the pressure settings in your machine? May...

Pressure upon waking up in the morning
Upon waking up some mornings I find that I need only breathe normally (slowly) yet the pressure on my machine is pretty high. When that happens, I use the ramp button to bring it down so as to enjoy a few minutes of relaxed breathing before getting up. My question is: why doesn't the pressure dimini...

Re: How do I analyze the information on my SD card
Hello all, I was diagnosed with chronic Sleep Apnea in Feb 2011 and have been using a CPAP since then. I have the ResMed S9 Elite. I would be going to my doc in another month or so to see how I am doing and so on. I would like to analyze my data that's stored on the SD card in my machine. I know th...

Re: Excessively Sleepy after three years of Therapy ! Why ?
My last annual check up said nothing about diabetes but I think your advice about carbohydrates makes sense. I suffered two separate heart attacks and have been on a nonfat diet for years (no pizzas, hamburgers, meat, etc...) so you are right, my carbohydrates intake is probably out of line. Thanks...

Re: Excessively Sleepy after three years of Therapy ! Why ?
I have used CPAP with only one day of non compliance since April 2010. I need a nap an hour or more every day and am more tired now than when I started treatment. For me there seems to be a strong correlation between food intake and the need for a nap. I developed a chronic bad habit of not sufficie...

Re: "No therapy data is available" Encore Viewer
Problem fixed! All along I thought the Encore Viewer software was processing data directly from the SD card. In reality, it stores its successive downloads to (in my case, using XP) the following directory: C:\Documents and Settings\" my User name here "\Local Settings\Application Data\Respironics\E...

Re: "No therapy data is available" Encore Viewer
Additional follow up to my previous posts. I called the Respironics support line Tuesday morning. Their recording indicated they would call me back within 2 business days. They called back the next day at which time I spoke with a technician who was very polite and listened carefully to my problem -...

Re: "No therapy data is available" Encore Viewer
Follow up to my previous post. I decided to "take the bull by the horns" and deleted the 000000763.001/002/005 files from my SD card. Had this worked, I would have missed a maximum of 2 days worth of data, which is not the end of the world. However, now Encore Viewer refuses to recognize any data pa...

Re: "No therapy data is available" Encore Viewer
The above solutions are tantalizingly close to what I need to solve a similar problem, except they do not work for me. My data is faithfully displayed from April 2010 through May 2, 2011 . After that, every single date is marked "No therapy data is available" in the Encore Viewer . Looking at the ra...

Re: Software for PR System One REMstar?
Thanks for the info about the lock, something I wasn't aware of, but that makes a lot of sense. Since I am not scheduled to see my physician any time soon, I may attempt your suggestion of a blank SD card. Thanks again.

Re: Software for PR System One REMstar?
...If you do this with the card in the machine it will overwrite the settings on the card. I suspect that if you put the card in after making the changes, the card settings will change the machines settings (card has first priority). So, put the card in the machine before changing settings. My expe...

Re: Pressure adjustment when SD card is present
Thank you robysue and LinkC for replying. Much appreciated. Following your recommendations I copied the contents of my SD card to my hard drive as shown below so as not accidentally damage any data: http://www.reedhoa.com/images/SDCardContents.jpg The current data is located in the P01123938EECC/p1 ...

Pressure adjustment when SD card is present
I posted a similar question back in August of 2010 and never got a satisfactory answer. I have no problem adjusting the pressure on my System One machine with the SD card removed. However, the settings revert back to the SD card numbers once the card is reinserted. Trying to adjust the pressure with...
