Re: Mask Issues

I also have had issues with mask leakage. I have found in hot weather the hybrid and Liberty work well for me. Now that it is cooler they were both causing sinus issues. I now use the Forma. After a few nights adjusting and readjusting I finally can get mostly a full night of sleep. At first I overt...

Re: UNABLE TO GET A GOOD SEAL

Yeah!!!!! I am finally getting it. I had issues with all the maks that I tried. A member of this forum suggested I try the Hybrid Full Face Mask w Nasal Pillows. He stated he had better luck with this one than any other. Voila. I ordered one and finally have a mask I like, no leaks and a good night'...

Re: How miserable were you before diagnosis?

About 15 years. The symptoms got really bad about 1 1/2 year ago. I was at the point where I had no life. I was afraid to drive anywhere's over a few miles, couldn't do my housework, did not want to visit with anyone and on and on. I am new at this but already feel sooooooo much better.

Re: UNABLE TO GET A GOOD SEAL

I am still fighting the leakage issue. I started out with my comfort gel mask last night and about 4:00 woke up to a load leak. Couldn't seem to readjust the *&^* mask plus it hurt the bridge of my nose. Changed to my liberty mask and finally drifted off. Reawoke about an hour later with a headache ...

Re: POLL: A Snapshot of the Health Problems of Forum Members

I checked the items that I have trouble with but have so many other issues. The worse of course being Fibromyalgia. I also have hypothyroidism. I did not check that I am more tired than I feel I should be because I just started on CPAP therapy.

Re: wailing & moaning mask

Hi Rose; you describe the masks I have tried. They are little nasty beasties aren't they. I am still attempting to get a good night's rest without the #$@!@ thing making cussing noises at me; or my ancestors are all angy with me and have moved into the darn thing.

Re: UNABLE TO GET A GOOD SEAL

Thanks again for the suggestions. I have tried cleaning the mask, not cleaning the mask as for my face it tends to be a bit oily so clealiness is important to me. I found if I did not clean my face before bed had a harder time getting a good seal. I have ordered a strap from PadaCheek. I hope that h...

Re: UNABLE TO GET A GOOD SEAL

I thank everyone who responded to my questions. I have tried numerous things mentioned and some that are new to me. I am going to make this work for me regardless of what I need to do to make it successful. I want my life back. It is very frustrating at times and seems hopeless in the middle of the ...

Re: Newbie one night in with headache -- coincidence or not?

Have you got a humidifier? I also have headaches occasionally. The humidifier that is attatched to the machine helps. Also I found that I had to be careful about making the straps too tight especially on the bridge of my nose.

Re: UNABLE TO GET A GOOD SEAL

Hello all; am so frustrated with the leakage. I just ordered the anti leak strap from PadaCheek. I have high hopes that this will help with my problem. This site is definitely worth a look. They have many comfort straps for different mask and headgear.

UNABLE TO GET A GOOD SEAL

Please help. I am a newbie and am having difficulty getting a good seal. I need a full face mask and have tried 4 at this writing. The first was the Liberty, the second Quatro, the third (my favorite) Forma and am now trying one with gel. I start out okay but after an hour or two sound like an old o...

Re: bridge of my nose HURTS!

I have a similar problem. I use the Mirage LIberty by ResMed. It is a hybrid and altough not as comfortable as some of the other masks I have tried this one does not hurt the bridge of my nose as it has nasal pillows and covers the mouth. I also tried the comfort care pad for the bridge of my nose b...

Re: Why do some folks take to cpap so quickly and others do not?

Egads; I do not have any answers for you. I can relate my own experiences. I am a newbie to this technology. I have been through four masks so far and just one am I able to use effectively. I need a full face and cannot get the darn things to seal properly. I start out the night well but after 1 - 2...
