Re: Swift FX mask
I've been using the swift FX for about a month. I also tried a comfort gel nasal mask for about a minute because I wanted to see how it fit and whether it leaked much. I quickly went back to the Swift FX. I find that it is the least intrusive and most comfortable. However, mine starts to leak about ...

I think I've made it to the promised land!
So I started with the cpap therapy about a month ago. Let's just say that I was sorely disappointed with the results at first. I started with nasal pillows and wasn't sure whether they were working or not (due to leaking, fit, etc.) I tried different sizes, I adjusted the pressure, I adjusted the hu...

Re: enough with these nasal pillows! now what?
thanks for your advice! I have an appt. on Thursday to pick up another mask. I still haven't decided between a nasal or a full face but I'll try them both on and see how they fit. I like the idea about bringing a pillow. I'll do that. I'm not waiting a month next time!

enough with these nasal pillows! now what?
I've been using the swift fx nasal pillows for about a month now and I am convinced they are not working. My AHI has gone down to around 5.0 on average but the leak rate has been consistently around 30 ml. I'm pretty sure it's a combo of an inability to stay sealed and some mouth breathing. Furtherm...

wrong setting
So I've been using my cpap now for a couple of weeks and I guess I've just been waiting for it to "work". I checked to see if the settings were correct and the mask type was set to "nasal". I changed it to "pillows" since that what I use. My question is, how much of a difference could that have made...

Re: Just Feel Like Sharing...
It's like you took the exact thoughts and words right out of my head and mouth! I feel exactly the same but I am taking the advice of all the very helpful and knowledgeable people in this forum and giving it time to work. I will continue to monitor data and my body and advocate for myself when neede...

Re: personal question for those that wish to respond
Here's what I know...I'm only 40 years old and my testosterone levels were low and my cortisol levels were high as well as my cholesterol. My diet was fairly clean and I work out regularly. You can't tell me that's not from lack of sleep. I must say that I didn't have a lack of drive but the "stiffi...

high leak rate
I am using the Swift FX nasal pillows. This morning my leak rate said 18 L/min. Is that normal? If not, What should I do next? Thanks!

Re: wait or adjust?
OK, I figured out how to read the data and it looks like my AHI is 3.9 which from what I read is considered successful. However, the leak rate is 18.0 L/min (i think that's how its measured) Is that normal?

Re: wait or adjust?
Thanks folks! I'll start paying more attention to the data. I haven't checked it yet because I wasn't sure how but it's a simple as reading the directions. I'll give it some time before I get discouraged. Thanks, again!

I am a registered user. Every time I try to post a new topic it says that the user name is already in use and to choose another one. Anyway, here is the equipment I've been using:
Resmed S9 Elite (with software)
Resmed 5i Humidifier
Swift FX Nasal Pillows
I appreciate the input very much.

Re: Impressed with dental device so far
just be careful with this type of device as they are known to cause TMJ problems over time. My wife is a dental assistant and she says every time they make one of these, the patients end up coming back with TMJ. Of course, my ENT says he has been using one for 3 years with no problems so just monito...
