My sore spots are right at the top of the external nares, and I swab with Neosporin two or three times a week. I'm going to try the suggested nasal oinkment to see if I can actually get rid of it. Thanks!

Interesting. I just got my Hybrid today and am really hopeful that it will be the thing I have been looking for. The technician at my sleep center covers her ears and yells "LA LA LA LA LA..." when I mention "tape."

So, Sidesleeper - please explain term "washout?"

That is REALLY funny. Thanks for the giggle!

I clean my hose just by sticking one end against the tub faucet and blowing hot water through it for a minute or so. Works great. I use one of those silicon oven gloves to keep from scalding by hand.

Hi Amigo,

How can you tell that you have ZERO leaks? Do leaks wake you, or do you see them on Encore Pro report?

I think I may have to get the software after all.

Cheers,
Robin

Dunno. I just finished Month #1 and I'm still tinkering with "what's going to work the best." This forum can give you lots of ideas, but only you will know what feels right. Don't be afraid to experiment a bit, but also try to remember that your unit is set up to your doctor's specs - and don't stra...

Wow. What a hoot! Timing is everthing and as usual, mine stinks. I taped last night for the very first time. I have been sleeping very VERY poorly, and decided that I was going to keel over if I did not get rested. So I tried a quadruple whammy. I sprayed my nose to be sure it was clear, took a pres...

Seems to me we used to remove chewing gum from kiddies' hair by kneading peanut butter into it. You could make your tape removal part of your normal healthy breakfast. Think of the time you'd save!

VERY funny thread. Thanks.

I'd rather put on pantyhose than have to tie a tie. Good thing I'm female.

Lights on, power connected. Not a problem. And I have stopped using the ramp. Doesn't seem to be necessary for me, although I thoght it would be. Strange how things work out sometimes.

I have not been able to get it to fail agian. Maybe I dremed it before. I too have stopped "pre-heating." I like to start out with a cooler stream, in the hopes that I will be asleep before it gets too warm. But I have to warm it or it does not carry enough moisture to keep my nose from internal des...

Thanks, all for your feedback. It's going to help me quite a bit. I think a FF mask is in the cards for me. While my nasal mask is certainly comfy, I've yet to have a really good night's sleep, and that has to be the driver.

If your DME gave you a used machine and billed your insurance for a used one, it is fraud and should be reporterd to your insurance. If they gave you a used machine and billed appropriately, you may not have much recourse, especially if the unit meets your doc's treatment specs. Start by caling your...

It has not been w/o its challenges, but I think/hope/have to believe that it's going to wrok in the longrun. I do still wake several times during the night, and because the mask needs tiny t...

FF Mask Options

OK, so now in week 3 the mouth leaks have gotten unbearable, and my DME's RT recommends a trip back to the sleep center to discuss options. This DME stocks 4 kinds: 1) Ultra Mirage (which she says is "best"), 2) Mirage Series II, 3) Respironics Comfort Full and 4) the HC 431. Any thoughts/feedback f...
