Re: Is it worth buying a backup machine?

All machines are different, but the lifespan is usually around 5 years, give or take. I think after 4 years, you are living on borrowed time. Again, many people get more than 5 years. I bought a Resmed S10 last year when it was on sale and it is my backup. I only go out of town 2 or 3 times a year. ...

Re: One week new to cpap

The best place to get mask liners is from padacheek.com. The owner is a member here and the liners are designed to fit your mask. They are fleece and are real comfy, It will eliminate the marks.

Re: Mask Replacement Schedule

I usually replace my mask cushions when the leak rates increase or the leaks start to wake me up. I can usually get 4-6 weeks on a cushion. The answer is no. Different people have different schedules.

Re: FitLife Total Face CPAP/BiPAP Mask

I used the Total mask for over a decade. I only use it now, when my full face mask screws up my nose bridge, or I have some Melanoma skin issues on my nose. Was there a specific issue you had? I do know the mask is becoming harder and harder to get. My current DME says they can't get it. I had some ...

Re: Padacheek liners leaks

I'm totally like you. I tried the F20 several times and ended drop kicking it to the next county. I couldn't prevent the nose bridge issues. I have been using the Resmed Mirage Quattro for several years. It has a knob that will allow you to adjust the pressure on the bridge of the nose. Take a look-...

Re: FIRST NIGHT - help?

To expand on what LSAT said, the constant forced air cpap sends could initially make your lungs sore. I think overtime, your lungs would adjust to the constant pressure cpap therapy provides.

Re: Recent surgery need extra smalll full face mask

I have always had the problem with the headgear being too big. Whatever mask I used, I needed the largest mask they make for that particular mask, but the headgear was always too big. So, I would have to buy the next size down headgear.

Re: What equipment do I need to get started?

Unless you purchase your equipment from Amazon or another online company, you have to deal with a DME. Anyway, our host: cpap.com is an excellent place to purchase equipment. Plus, they are nice. I have bought a lot of stuff from them. They won't file your purchases with a insurance company, but the...

Thanks for your response. I do change masks on occasion. I'm on the Mirage Quattro now. It seems to be working best for me. For now. This is a terrible disease. God bless.

TCLynx: I was about to post a question about Parkinsons and cpap. I did a search, and this post showed up. Your Dad is so blessed to have a daughter like you! You are a wonderful daughter! He raised you well! I was diagnosed with Parkinsons about 6 weeks ago, but I know I've had the symptoms before ...
