Re: 2 Questions related to getting a new machine
PR (and myself) would also want to know which AirSense 10 model we are comparing to the S9 AutoSet for Her. Also...refurbished or gently used...what you talking about? To me they are 2 different things. Refurbished to me means was once broken and now fixed and hours set to zero at the factory level...

Re: 2 Questions related to getting a new machine
A critical piece of information to answer this question properly is number of hours on the machines. In another thread I saw P.R. normalize life span by comparing it the hours used on a used machine to the hours used for 5 years. 5 years often being thought of as a good lifespan for a machine. He's...

Re: 2 Questions related to getting a new machine
You guys have been great thank you for all the information. I have a question for everyone, but I really would like to hear what palerider has to say on this as I think your signature said you had an S9. If you had to buy one today would you consider an S9 Autoset for Her if it was $100 cheaper then...

Re: 2 Questions related to getting a new machine
Been doing some reading. Looks like I can't use a Resmed after all.
I need a 10 foot tube (6 feet is way too short) and humidity and according to what I read Resmed says it can't do both.
My F&P had no issue with both.

Re: 2 Questions related to getting a new machine
I get the auto is a possible choice, but for now I want to stick with standard. I had an auto before and in auto mode my AHI was always worse. A straight 10 with no adjusting has proven better for me. Plus if I do go auto eventually I figure the choice would slide directly over. Airsense to airsense...

2 Questions related to getting a new machine
I am going to be getting a new CPAP machine tomorrow. I have searched the forum extensively and can't find what I am looking for. Maybe my word choices for the search were not the best. For reference I am coming from a F&P Icon and the noise from that didn't bother me too much. I think I am going to...

Re: CMS-50F pulse Oximeter getting consistent results
Is it OK to use a thumb? I seem to get the least amount of issues with using it. My index finger seems to give slightly lower readings then the my other fingers even when taped. My middle finger and thumb tend to be very close, while my index tends to trend about 2 points lower.

CMS-50F pulse Oximeter getting consistent results
How can I make sure I am getting consistent accurate results? I have had mine about a week now and noticed several things about it that make me wonder if I couldn't attach it better to get more accurate results. The sensor seems a little lose for my index finger, but I started there. I taped the wir...

Re: More questions about the different machine types
The nice thing about where I work is that if I qualify my company will pay 50% of my out of pocket expenses for DME. The warm fuzzy wasn't about them watching me sleep. I had a lack of confidence in their ability. The nurse was a bit ditsy and the tech was very hard to understand. Maybe I could star...

Re: More questions about the different machine types
Thanks for the offer, I might just take you up on it. I would want to see what the Doctor and insurance say before I intrude on your hospitality. I had mine at the Eliot too and I really wasn't impressed. The facility was nice, the bed was comfortable, but I just didn't get a warm fuzzy about the st...

Re: More questions about the different machine types
I was allowed to borrow a CPAP from my doctor some years ago and allowed to play with the pressure and the mask to try and get used to the feeling. I never could. What happens to me is that I really freak out with almost any pressure. It was so bad that even the oxygen thing they put in your nose at...

More questions about the different machine types
Please forgive me for all my questions. I am trying to get my head around all the machine types. To get anyone reading my posts for the first time caught up. I have no equipment or an actual prescription yet. Highlighted because in previous posts others have missed this. I have not had a follow-up v...

Re: Looking for APAP information and advice
Thank you very much for the information. That was exactly what I was hoping for and more. At this point I still don't have a prescription as I haven't had a follow-up with the Doctor yet only a phone consult with a nurse. Could they give me a pressure without me actually using a machine there? I can...

Re: Looking for APAP information and advice
I have yet to actually see the numbers, but had a phone conversation with the nurse and she said I was in the severe range. I may have misheard her, but I thought she said I had a 101 incidents an hour. I am hoping she is wrong and it was 101 for the entire time I was asleep. I meet with my Doctor i...
