Re: Just Feel Like Sharing...
Thanks for all of the great encouragement, everybody! Each day gets a tiny bit better, and I think it's a matter of my brain getting to the point where it knows it can relax and trust the machine.

Just Feel Like Sharing...
I'm in a mood right now and feel like sharing. I've been a lifelong insomniac (44 years) . Medication never works for me and always leaves me feeling like a zombie the entire next day. Started with CPAP 3 weeks ago. It actually took until last week to get my rig set up to where I'm comfortable. Rain...

Re: Where to put the machine
Well, the machine placement move went fine once I stopped over thinking it and just made a little stand next to the bed. But I definitely do have nose pillow rainout It's irritating and keeps waking me up - which is counter productive to say the least. I have a half-face mask at home and I'll give t...

Re: Where to put the machine
As always, great suggestions! Thanks everyone! I was actually having a meltdown thinking about rearranging the furniture - something that my wife really doesn't want me to do. But the space is kind of tight. I was going to buy a little table today to put it on - making things even more cramped. I'm ...

Where to put the machine
How important is machine placement? I have mine on the end table next to my bed. But the end table is a few inches taller than the bed and the tech mentioned it should be lower than my sleep position (though he also felt the tiny difference would not be a problem). I've been using my CPAP for a week...

Re: sore throat every morning!
What equipment are you using? Do you have a humidifier unit attached to the cpap machine? I'm very new at this, but the tech told me that setting the humidifier too low could cause dryness that would lead to a sore throat. Mine is set at a "2" (though that probably means different things on differen...

Re: My Aching Nose
Thank you all so much for your help! It is so great to know that support is just a post away. This is a great community. Turns out that I did have the headgear too tight. I loosened it a tiny bit and had zero nose ache this morning. Janknitz's advice was especially helpful in getting the right fit. ...

My Aching Nose
Just started CPAP last night. I use nasal pillows, and the exterior of my nostrils, the tip of my nose, and the exterior divider between the nostrils (don't you just love all of these technical terms?) are very sore. Punched in the nose sore. The tech did explain that this could very well happen, an...
