Re: Sort of a weird problem with a Quattro Air cushion
I think the qualify of the Quattro FFM has gone down hill in the four years or so, since I began using it. I never had any trouble with it, or its headgear for about three years. Then I got a mask that leaked insanely. Tried all sorts of things to no effect (including the evil RemZZZZZ). Ordered ano...

Re: Well, It's Been a Year (And Then Some)
New sleep study at the Mayo on September 7th. Mayo read out the last year's data and saw no issues whatsoever. Other than the fact that I feel like [deleted]. Also seeing the pulmonologist as well, since I have COPD (wheefun).

Well, It's Been a Year (And Then Some)
A bit more than a year ago I was introduced to the wonderful world of CPAP machines. I read all the horror stories, the rants about discomfort, being unable to sleep, being unable to tolerate the mask, how hard this all was, and so on. Then I got my machine. Plugged it in stuck the Quattro FFM on my...

Why don't you take the political drivel somewhere that welcomes it?

Re: CPAP use while flying
I use my Resmed S9 in flight frequently, at cabin altitudes up to 6,000 feet. Our aircraft is pressurized and I do power it off the cabin AC outlets. Have never had any problems/issues in doing so. But then our airplane isn't an airliner.

Re: Utterly Weird Experience
I can't help with the answer to your original question, but I have a more important question for you. Have you felt better after the last 3 nights of sleep when your AHI has been below 1.0? If so, keep using the Climate Line. And let your sleep doctor know the secret of your lower average AHI. Lyn ...

Re: Utterly Weird Experience
Hey, that's great! Wonder why? What was your humidifier setting with the Slimline? What is it now, with the Climate Line? And what is the temperature and humidity where you sleep? Humidifier was set to 3.5 I think. I never changed it after I received the machine, and it should still be the same wit...

Utterly Weird Experience
I've been CPAPing since August or thereabouts, and pretty much everything is fine. My AHI runs between 4 and 6 most nights and I was told by my sleep doctor that this was just dandy with him. Okay. He's the expert (Mayo Clinic, researcher, nice guy, great communicator). So three nights ago I managed...

Re: CPAP the Lighter Side...
My beloved little granddaughter lives with us (she's 3) and sometimes comes down to my room to awaken me in the morning so we can play. Unfortunately, I neglected to tell her about the CPAP machine and my full face mask. So after about three days on the machine I awoke to my tiny granddaughter smack...

Re: Recommended sleep Dr. in Twin Cities Area
Call the Mayo Clinic. They're cheaper, and far better quality than any sleep doctor/center/facility in the Twin Cities.

Or, alternatively you could take chopper's post for what it is: advocacy for pseudo-scientific junk that has failed repeatedly to demonstrate any degree of efficacy in scientific, controlled studies. That might be more practical.

Re: Anyone use Sinus Buster for Congestion ?
Explosive decompression works exceptionally well for nasal congestion and sinus issues. I was First Officer on a Learjet 45 that lost a cabin window at 29,000 feet (differential pressure about 8.1psi) and the resultant drop in pressure unclogged my nostrils AND drained my sinuses completely in about...

Re: FREEDOM From Apnoea And Cpap Machine !!!!!
There's no need to review the Buteyko materials. It is pseudo-scientific, unsupportable claptrap that has been found to be utterly ineffective in EVERY controlled study to which it has been subjected. It has no basis in science, or in reality and flies in the face of well understood, and well verifi...

Re: Doctors and The Things They Tell Us
I had been seen regularly by a fairly large clinic/hospital system, and the persistent and nagging feeling that they were ONLY interested in the most superficial diagnosis and treatment that would get me billed and out the door. In frustration, I called the Mayo Clinic, said "I feel like hell and no...
