Re: Racing heart while using CPAP

Thanks for your reply. I totally agree that my brain has trouble going from concious to sleep, almost like the wires in my brain are getting crossed as I try to drift off if that makes any sense. I endure all sorts of odd sleep disturbances on an almost nightly basis. Hopefully in talking with a sle...

Re: Racing heart while using CPAP

I will have what little data that has been recorded over the last couple months reviewed by a sleep therapist on Friday. But a quick update from last night: I checked my starting pressure, which was 8. I have Opti-start disabled. I made some changes by turning auto mode off and keeping the pressure ...

Re: Racing heart while using CPAP

I believe my starting pressure was set anywhere from 6-7 (I'm at work but will double check this when I get home) But like I mentioned, I do believe I have the "Opti-Start" option enabled on my CPAP. From what I've gathered this feature will start your pressure at your last effective CPAP treatment ...

Re: Racing heart while using CPAP

I do not own a finger pulse ox, however, I do check my heart rate but sadly not when these episodes occur. I am no stranger to anxiety as well, I take medication for that. I also experience night terrors and hypnagogic hallucinations. The sensation I experience before falling asleep is like nothing ...

Re: Racing heart while using CPAP

Yes, good suggestion. I do eat before bed and I know I am really bad for that. But I am having these episodes not even one hour after food. I am almost certain that my sugars are not crashing that quickly after food. If it were the middle of the night I could understand, but we're talking anywhere f...

Re: Racing heart while using CPAP

Thanks for the replies. I have had blood work done back in October, I know my thyroid was tested and things were clear then. My machine is data capable but as I mentioned I don't really bother with it as I find it very confusing to use the software. I am going to look at my pressure settings when I ...

Racing heart while using CPAP

Hey guys, Let me preface this post by saying that I'll be getting into see someone about this issue ASAP (already have a doctors appointment booked) The last few months have been an absolute train wreck for CPAP thearpy. Prior to this I was never a poster boy, but I could use my mask every night and...

Re: Just installed Sleepyhead - Plethora of questions

I actualy woke up at about 11:15 this morning, so it wasn't closer to noon. Not a huge deal, but just kind of confusing as to why it was saying that. I didn't get up in the middle of the night either, and I took the card out of the machine about an hour after being awake or so. I'll wait longer next...

Just installed Sleepyhead - Plethora of questions

Hey guys, Now that I have a new CPAP I figured I'd start taking it a bit more seriously and get some data. I haven't read data in the 5 years I've used CPAP, which is pretty bad as I am just going in blind, hoping and assuming I'm getting good therapy. My biggest question as of right now (as this is...

Re: Respironics System One - Not working/functioning properly

Sorry for the lack of responses here guys, I got so busy with work before holidays. I just wanted to give a big shout out to sleep_quest for sending me a brand new CPAP, it was an absolute breeze doing business with you. The CPAP was shipped quickly and packaged carefully. For the first time in 8 (l...

Re: Respironics System One - Not working/functioning properly

Huge thanks to you guys for all the information you've given me so far. The website I had looked at said repairs can cost anywhere from $100-300 with a free estimate. I didn't realize people were selling CPAP's on this website and on craigslist, some barely used. I have a PM from a member here and a...

Re: Respironics System One - Not working/functioning properly

Unfortunately I am not savvy enough to solder any parts, or even know where to begin soldering what. I think things are pointing towards having it repaired by the company I mentioned above. Like I said, I can't afford a new CPAP right now, they are much too expensive. However, if the company is unab...

Re: Respironics System One - Not working/functioning properly

Insurance isn't involved with my CPAP. I bought my CPAP from a privatized sleep clinic. I know it's time for a new one, but that's just not feasible at the moment, especially during the holidays. I wish they were cheaper. I am weary to repair a 5 year old CPAP, but at the same time, if it works and ...

Respironics System One - Not working/functioning properly

Hey guys, This is a long shot of a post here. I have had my CPAP (Respironics REMStar System One) since about 2009. Within the last 8-10 months it has been behaving oddly and not performing well. It will shut off by itself in the middle of the night with a message saying something to the effect of "...
