Re: Thank you to the CPAP Talk community
Hi SleepingUgly - I can't find the list of Phase I surgeries, but I think I recall that it was called pharyngoplasty. Hi GumbyCT - Thank you for asking. I am feeling great! I have more energy and I sleep through the night now without frequent bathroom trips. I can last longer in the car without nodd...

Re: Thank you to the CPAP Talk community
Thank you for your kind comments; I do know that things can change and I plan to monitor it closely in the future and also be careful not to gain weight. In answer to the question about my uvula : it was folded back up into my soft palate (not removed).

Thank you to the CPAP Talk community
I’ve seen previous posts that complained that people having success post-op did not return to the message board to share their results. I wanted to come back today to say “thank you” for all of the support from this community over the last 7 months and share the results from my follow-up sleep study...

Re: tonsillectomy next week, any advice?
Popsicles and non-citrus Jamba Juice Smoothies (I liked the Banana & Blueberry mixture). Ice cream was too thick and made me cough too. Taking pain medicine on a regular schedule helps too. I had a tonsillectomy and UPPP along with other corrective surgeries called Phase I in May. I am feeling much ...

Re: Melatonin question??
Unfortunately, the Trader Joe's Melatonin is mint flavored, which is not good for me because I have LPR.

Re: Melatonin question??
Hi,
I bought my first bottle at Ralph's (Southern California) with the brand name of Sundown Naturals. The second bottle I found at CVS (their own brand). It's hard to find, but worth it. You may want to Google where you might find it online if you can't find it in your area.

Re: Melatonin question??
I have the same sleeping problem and chose not to take the Ambien prescribed by my doctor. I read a lot about Melatonin through an internet search and found out that most dosages are way too much. I started on 300 Mcg (micrograms not milligrams) which worked well at helping me fall asleep, waking 4 ...

Re: The Biggest Throat Problem for Sleep Apnea Sufferers
Ditto the lightbulb moment! I was recently diagnosed with LPR and have had no relief despite Protonix 40mg twice/day and following a restrictive diet as well as not eating close to bedtime. I never was informed how OSA and LPR were related physiologically. This makes so much sense. I wish I could fi...

Re: Question for those who had Inferior Turbinate Reduction surg
I had turbinate reduction 8 weeks ago among other surgeries and was advised to stop the Nasonex pre-op. Post-op I restarted the Nasonex at week 7 when mostly healed due to allergies. When I restarted it, I was told to do a nasal rinse first and it's working well for me. I can breathe much better out...

Re: Machine replacement: Strike one!
Great story, thanks. I'm curious- does anyone know who oversees, licenses, or accredits the DME companies?

It is a System One. Also, it says it has heated humidifier on the back, but it doesn't seem heated to me.

Thank you very much, jdm2857; I'll see if I can adjust that setting for the face mask removal shut off.

Re: Help needed interpreting data/making adjustments
HI, I am a newbie also and am interested in learning how to interpret the machine's stats. I had to figure it out on my own after seeing that everyone on this board seems to know their stats. I just figured it out this morning! I was on a fixed setting CPAP before and shortly after my surgery 8 week...
