Re: Just bought Resmed S9 autoset - any tips?

One other tip: do you have the slimline hose or regular hose? Make sure the settings and your hose are the same as there is a difference. I just noticed this the other day that my S9 was set for the regular hose but I'm using the slimline. I fixed the setting but didn't really notice a change. Any ...

Insurance company stopped covering CPAP rental!

Hi all, Hope everyone is doing well. I've been away from the board for quite some time. I've been getting calls from my DME about an unpaid balance, one that was quite high. I logged in to BCBS to look at my recent claims, and was shocked to see that the last three were not paid. They list the follo...

How do you track your CPAP maintenance/service/parts/etc?

I am so disorganized in life, I never know the best way to organize things.

What kind of system do you all use for keeping track of your CPAP machine maintenance, service, cleanings, part replacement, etc? Right now I rely on my memory which doesn't always work too well.

Quattro FX - anyone tried it out yet?

I just noticed that CPAP.com now has the Quattro FX. Have any of you tried it out yet? I'm ready to throw my Mirage Quattro out the window.

Re: ResScan: Leak vs Minute Ventilation?

Ahh! I always read it as "MiNUTE ventilation" - minute as in "small amount", didn't know it was "MINute" - 60 seconds.
Thanks!

The insurance game

About a month ago I got a new cushion for my mask - Since Praxair is in the stone age and has no online ordering, I decided to try CPAP.com and go for my own reimbursement. When I got the EOB form, it went better than expected - they covered the entire cost (minus sales tax)! But, since we're now in...

Re: Having doubts...

Surprisingly, the mask doesn't bother me, but something plastic or rubber pressing (sticky) against my forehead is uncomfortable is irritating to me Same here. I hate going around half the day with big red marks on my forehead. Just tell people you had your horns removed but the skin area is still ...

Re: "Luke, I am your Father........."

You have a Facehugger on you at night? I'd be careful if I were you - you don't want anything bursting out of your chest I can talk with my gear on, but I have to yell for my wife to hear me. The worst is when I have a tickle on my nose and I have to tilt open the mask to get at it - whoooooooosh/fa...

Re: Having doubts...

I also have the Quattro, and it can be a beast. I found this very helpful article with tips for fitting it better. The mistake most people make (myself included) is that they tighten it too much.

Give it a read, hope it helps!

Re: New guy looking for help analyzing data.

Welcome to the board. I am still learning about how to analyze all the graphs, but I can at least share with you what I have so far. In the summary data, the most important numbers are your Apnea index (AI), Hypopnea index (HI), and AHI (combination of AI and HI). The AI is how many apnea events occ...

ResScan: Leak vs Minute Ventilation?

Hi guys!

Still not sure about this, looking at my ResScan graphs. I know Leak is air leaking from the mask, but what is Minute Ventilation? They're both measured in L/min - are they related?
Thanks!

And as for an ON-topic post, I ended up ordering my cushion from CPAP.com.

Ordering supplies from Praxair?

Do any of you have Praxair as your DME supplier? I need to order a new mask cushion but Praxair's website has no information that I can find about ordering supplies. Am I better off just going with CPAP.com? I think BCBSTX reimburses at 60% for online out of network suppliers.
