Re: Should cpaptalk Be Divided Into Categories or Subsections?
There's a tool that looks to be missing at the moment (or I'm too tired to find it): the "Report Post" button. If you could click that and type in a bit of text to describe why you're reporting it, it would be trivial enough to report a post "needs to be moved to section xxxxxxx" and that would prob...

Re: Question for men with facial hair
I've found that my moustache whiskers get irritated/painful when they're short/medium as the mask tends to try to flip them up instead of down. Since I've grown out my moustache so it's all longer, it doesn't irritate me nearly as much. I do still take some care to make sure the mask (I use a nasal ...

Re: help! Why is my Resmed s9 motor blowing so loudly now?
The last time I had that problem with mine, the humidifier door wasn't shut. You might check the seal for leaks around certain edges. You can do this more easily by using some kind of tube, holding one end to your ear and the other end up to the edges where the door seals. May not help you find it e...

Re: Ever hear of this?
I fail to see how CPAP air pressure could cause an increase in internal eye pressure (which is what, as I understand it, usually causes retinal tearing/macular degeneration/etc.). Now, if your mask is too big or misadjusterated and actually presses on the eyes, I could see that, but would said perso...

Re: Anybody Know The Difference
Since this thread has de-volved (as opposed to evolved) into a language issue, perhaps I could help (Just in case you didn't previously get notified): Euro-English The European Language Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union ra...

Re: Important question about F/P 244 and Resmed Swift FX
Hooking up the Swift FX to the FP 244 for me makes the FP report insane leakage rates! Forgive me if this has been asked, but do you have hose/mask type settings in your device? My S9 does and it is calibrated (default leak rate) for certain types of masks. If I change the mask type, the leak data ...

Re: Are many of you needlessly using a humidifier ?
In my unscientific observation, in Houston (humidity average 65-80%) if I did not have the humidifier on my S9 Auto set to 3 (middle setting), I would suffer from nosebleeds and general sinus discomfort during the day. Higher setting had no effect (seems obvious if the humidity is 80%) and lower set...

Re: Is this really how sleep feels?
Just remember that there will come a point where you will actually start feeling worse than when you first started, good thing it only lasts a few weeks. Its your body adjusting to the new routine and nothing to worry about, but it can get discouraging for those who are unaware. Nope - not everyone...

I had something similar, though it turns out it was just stitches or something working their way out. (Looked like a fishing-line knot. lol)

Re: are you fully recovered after CPAP or still tired?Poll pleas
I voted still a bit tired, though mine is mostly due to noticing all sorts of things that keep me awake now that I'm not so exhausted that I sleep through them (kids making noise, uncomfortable bed, temperature issues, etc.).

Re: S9 Autoset vs Respironics DS550 - Best Software?
The research I've looked into on the software seem to show the S9 Autoset pressure/flow data having much greater (adjustable level of) detail than anything I've seen from the Respironics devices. This could be that nobody posted detail like I've seen from my S9 or my google-fu is weak today. :p All ...

Flow waveform analysis: examples?
Hi, all. I've been doing some google site: searches hereabouts and I'm not finding any obvious examples so I thought I'd ask. Are there breathing flow waveform examples of different types of events e.g. snoring, exhale partial obstructions, etc.? I've taken two snapshots from my S9 data and would li...

Re: Time for S9 to react to an event
NOTE: This is using ResScan v3.11. All of the events I've seen so far are registered as such within 2-3 seconds of the "event" occurring. Now, the tricky part is that I'll usually have several <10 second events leading up to it which are obvious beginnings of an "event series" but are too short for ...

Re: Anyone here had a septoplasty? (poll included)
I had a septoplasty and turbinade reduction operation about 2 years ago. Recovery was a little annoying (always been sensitive to nose irritation) but no real problems with recovery. I had it done on Thursday and took friday off, so I went in Sunday to have the packing and other lovely stuff removed...

Re: ResScan 3.10 -> 3.11
Hi, all. Was hoping I'd be able to find a good forum for apnea stuff. Just picked up an S9 Autoset but have yet to find anyone that will let me give them money (or right arms or first born children, etc.) for the software. Here's hoping a friendly PM might shed some light on where to find this. Kind...
