Re:Message for Avi
Sounds to me like an invasive approach like in a pacemaker: remedē Stimulation Lead that is implanted in a vein close to one of the phrenic nerves, and a sensing lead to detect respiration. As such, its cost, plus the implantation, could be between $25,000 and $35,000. Beth, you posted: I'd be happ...

Re: Incredible news for 'Central' S A folks!
Hey, stranger. Nice to see you here again. Thanks for posting that interesting info about the clinical trial on this device. I'll stick with my trusty machine because it works so well for me, but for anyone who just can't make this therapy work and suffers with centrals, this could be a great optio...

<<As such, its cost, plus the implantation, could be between $25,000 and $35,000>> Actually the device alone is closer to 60. That's why it might behoove someone without insurance who is desperate to try and qualify in the study. Then its FREE, and FREE happens to be my favorite. I would imagine it ...

Incredible news for 'Central' S A folks!
[/b]Hi everyone; About a year ago I came to this forum, uninsured and panicky, looking for help and got a LOT of help from a lot of very nice, patient people, especially one person, and I know she knows who she is but would probably not want to be singled out. I was uninsured, and like many, had a t...

Re: Newbie Can't Get Out Of The Gate/Mask Problems
Hi, My biggest question is why you ended up with an SV machine? I wonder if this SV feature is what you are having a hard time adapting to? John I have no idea why I have an SV. Until 5 weeks ago I didn't know what ANY of this meant and I'm afraid I'm not very much more edumacated now. I'm taking c...

Re: Newbie Can't Get Out Of The Gate/Mask Problems

Re: Newbie Can't Get Out Of The Gate/Mask Problems
I can tell you my settings, but as I said I am brand new and don't understand them yet. I thought I explained pretty well why I can't keep it on; when I get the "blowfish" effect, when a huge burst of air comes in, I feel like I'm suffocating. I hit the 'ramp' button, but when I am asleep I just pul...

Re: please help me
Regarding the Percocet: my Mother has to take Lortab for her Restless Legs. Its the only thing that works. *I* take Suboxone, which ios a very powerful opiate antagonist, in fact my Doc said that the Suboxone is the REASON for the 'Central' part of my 'Central & Obstructive' part of my diagnosis. I ...

Newbie Can't Get Out Of The Gate/Mask Problems
Hi Everybody; After a whirlwind diagnosis, a flurry of distress messages and a LOT of generous input on this board, I come to you once again in need. The bottom line is I cannot keep my mask on my face. ANY mask. My dear friend BleepingBeauty, who has really taken me under her wing, suggested I writ...

Can't Keep My Mask On My Face
Hey Everybody...well I finally got my machine from http://www.secondwindCPAP.com, a $5000.00- machine for $875.00! This is the place to go if you have no Insurace. Mark the owner is an absolute sweetheart and VERY knowledgeable. My Doctor kind of 'loaned me a mask permanently', and it's the Quatro F...

NO Insurance?
I came to the boards about 2 weeks ago, and have been innundated with friends and information too numerous to mention. I did indeed get my "Smart Buddy" and there are a LOT of them here. Most importantly, I was able to find the machine I need for $825.00 at a company called "Second Wind CPAP" (http:...
