Re: Need Help with ASV Settings

Here are the results with ASV "auto" reset to baseline:
Personally, I would prefer less air volume. I tried a few adjustments to the mask, but the leaks seem about the same. I may order a new gel and see if that helps.

Re: Flow Rate vs Flow Limit_ new to trying interpreting data

Big help. This mask is a Phillips Respironic Comfort Gel Blue (large). My leaks are near my eyes, and I can push on the mask and stop the leaks. However, tightening the straps to stop the leak results in too much painful pressure on the top bridge of my nose and forehead. A larger-sized head, but a ...

Re: Flow Rate vs Flow Limit_ new to trying interpreting data

Thanks.. This old post was helpful. I will reset from baseline and go from there. Not sure what mask I have. Is there a model number printed on it? I have continued to gain weight. With CPAP my AHI was higher, and I had difficulty adjusting (felt like an inflated balloon). I'm hoping the ASV will be...

Need Help with ASV Settings

What is the difference between flow rate vs flow limit? I'm new to interpreting sleep data. I only looked at AHI in the past. Does sleep limit data tell me anything of value or is it just data for data's sake? I'm struggling with mask leaks at the moment and notice a correlation between the leaks an...

Re: Help for the clueless

See that desat zone around 01:40am? Drops in blood oxygen levels are called desaturations (see I'm learning). I'll watch how this trends in the coming weeks. I have a question about "pressure." In the old days, I had a set pressure and if you asked me what my pressure was I could tell you. I don't ...

Re: Help for the clueless

I put it on my right middle finger first phalange, just like a clip-on pulseOx would fit... then I tape it in place with 1" of that CRST. I did cut all the elastic out of it to make it fit my ridiculously fat fingers. Is this an O2Ring? Not at ring. The O2 is a Wellue Pulse Oximeter Fingertip Blood...

Re: Help for the clueless

Do most people use SleepHQ or Oscar for tracking therapy?

Re: Help for the clueless

The clocks are correct now and the O2 levels imported to Sleephq. (sorry, took me a while to figure all this out) Is there a place on the forum where I can find what these measures mean and what range they should be in? https://sleephq.com/public/ecd56b14-1c90-4bd7-a89b-1001306a20cd https://sleephq....

Re: Help for the clueless

I went through my Oscar graphs and I do show some low peaks, nothing like the continued episode you showed. Here's my respiration rate for the last three months, interested to see something like this for you recently. I fixed the clocks (off by an hour or so). To the untrained eye (me) your OSCAR r...

Re: Help for the clueless

The ring time and machine time are off from each other. Along with the 1 hour offset I think the times are skewed... that desat looks like it should correspond with the period of low respiration rate given from 11:31 to 11:38 (machine). Looks like the ring is 52min slow. Yes, I see this now, the cl...

But that desat around 12:39-47am (ring time) is not good... did your arm go to sleep?
Yes, thank you for reminding me. My arm did go to sleep. Those finger oximeters are prone to getting "bumped" and shutting off so I sleep with my arm in an odd position.

Re: Help for the clueless

Watched videos on leaks and modified the settings on the cpap (thank you Respirator99). Still struggling with the seal on the nasal mask (an odd toucan-beaked-shaped face). Taped the mouth. Not successful in uploading oximeter data to Sleephq. https://sleephq.com/public/e261a9de-5c7f-4f1d-b9f3-2a6a5...

Re: Help for the clueless

I looked back at 2011-12 and noticed that my average hypopnea index was 5.7, RERA was 1.9, and OA of .9 (total AHI of 8.7) and clear airway apnea index was 2.1
The prescribed pressure was 5.0

Re: Help for the clueless

Ocar lists obstructive apnea separate from hypopneas so I thought they were different. OA....reduction in air flow from 80 to 100% because of obstruction that lasts at least 10 seconds. Hyponea....reduction in air flow from 30 to 79% because of obstruction that lasts at least 10 seconds. There had ...

While Hyponeas can be central in nature the vast majority of them are obstructive in nature.
So it sounds like hypopneas when your breathing is reduced and you're not taking in enough oxygen and these events are called obstructive apneas if your breathing completely stops.
