Re: Truck driver 20 days into this "adventure" Some help please?
Hi there, In the first few nights of cpap I awoke to find the mask lying on the bed beside me. My problem was that I needed to train myself to sleep on my side. I also had to slightly increase my pressure after I got home. If you are feeling stuffy you wont get enough air through the mask and you wi...

Feeling stuffed up in the morning? Try this.
Hi All, I am on my third month of cpap and generally it has given me a new lease of life. However, since moving house recently I found that I was waking up once or twice every night and I was feeling stuffed up and phlegmy every morning. One morning I felt water trickling from beneath the mask. My f...

Re: First month of cpap - The Full Story
hi atab, I am quite comfortable with my cpap now. Its just that new things seem to pop up unexpectedly and I have something new to cope with. For example, I get up at 5am for work. I have changed my routine so I go for a little nap when I get home from work around 3PM. I only sleep for about 20 minu...

Re: First month of cpap - The Full Story
Stayed at my brothers house last night. I woke up due to water running into my nose. A bit of investigation showed that the room was very humid, the walls were actually damp. His air conditioning had stopped during the night and for some reason this led to condensation building up in my hose. My Fis...

Re: OK, first night on my CPAP
Hi lydarose, I had exactly the same problem. I resolved this by loosening the straps slightly around my nose. It depends on the type of mask you have but I would suggest a bit of experimentation with loosening the straps will resolve your problem. I found if the straps were too loose the air leaked ...

Re: Hungry now that I'm getting better sleep?
My appetite is still huge but I am doing more stuff. I have started back at school and I am going to the gym every day after school. I swear I feel my clothes becoming looser. Today I have finished school, went to the gym for 1 and a half hours, spent 30 mins fixing a friend's internet connection, n...

Re: First month of cpap - The Full Story
Hi guys, Thanks for the replies. To answer a few points. My pressure is only 10. It was 8 after the sleep study but the technician told me that some people sleep much more soundly at home so the pressure may have to be increased. My sister-in-law told me she heard me snoring at home so I emailed the...

First month of cpap - The Full Story
Hi folks, Thanks to every contributor. I have found this forum absolutely invaluable. I have now been on cpap for 4 weeks. Here is a list of the differences I have noted: GOOD ------ I am not tired at night. I can watch tv, read or listen to music and I just dont get the urge to doze off. My appetit...

Re: Hungry now that I'm getting better sleep?
Same for me. I have been on cpap for one month. I found my appetite has become enormous. I constantly feel hungry. I have noticed that some others have reported the same. Also, I believe I can taste food better. I am a bad snorer, or was, and I believe that my palate was being damaged by the snoring...

Re: New to this - questions
Well I have been around the wilds of Scotland for the past 4 weeks. I have changed beds every two or three days and thats made me realise that each bed needs to be adjusted to. I have found that my hose needs to be dropped vertically over the edge of the bed down to the cpap machine on the floor to ...

Re: New to this - questions
Hi folks, I had to give up on sleeping on my back. Just couldnt nod off. So I bought a small pillow and sleep on my side with the pillow just coming up to my ear. My face hangs over the edge of the pillow and that way there is room for the mask and hose. This feels like its working well. I had a cha...

Re: New to this - questions
Second night at home with cpap. Not so good. I knew as soon as I woke up that something wasnt right. My sister-in-law said she heard me snoring so I called my sleep technician. Slightly complicated by the fact that I was staying in a hotel. The technician called me back and explained how to up the p...

Re: Newbie needs support-2 days w/o sleep!
Sorry to hear that you are not sleeping. We have all been there. First, wake up your husband. Get the bugger involved. You are having panic attacks and you are worried about waking him up???? Really????? Second, call your sleep clinic, technician or doctor. Seek help. Do not try to tough it out. You...

dear torontocpapguy, Please accept my apologies for not replying sooner. Your post was a stunner. Truly. I appreciate the time and emotion you invested in replying and I feel bad that I have not acknowledged that. I have now done an overnight sleep study, got myself a cpap and had one night with the...
