Distilled water

Is distilled water really necessary? Isn't that just to prevent water scaling on the humidifier? My 420G's humidifier tank is dishwasher safe and says to use tap water.

Does mouth breathing use more water from the humidifier?

I have a goodnight 420G wy/ heated humidifier. I was having mmouthbreathing issues and on a typical night, I would just about empty the hhumdifierswater tank. I am now using a chin strap (wy/ great success) and noticed that the water usage is less than half of what it was. Is this normal? I thought ...

Chin Strap works for me

After reading many posts, I think I must be the only person for whom a chin strap actually works! I tried the denture strips, and even a FF mask with limited success. (The denture strips started out working great, but then I kept having problems). One day, my CPAP stopped working, so I went to my DM...

Air escaping or mouth breathing?

I am fairly new to CPAPs (a month) but I have what may be a very silly question... When I use my nasal mask (Mirage Activa), there are times when the CPAP air comes out of my mouth. This happened a few times during my sleep study, but the study results still showed a marked improvement in my sleep. ...

Leaks all around

I have to say that I am not very pleased with the UMFF mask. It leaks all the time. Every move seems to cause a different leak - with a different sound! It's waking me up constantly, thereby defeating it's purpose. I have to blame a small part of this on my DME, and a large part to my ignorance with...

It seems similar to the UMFFII. I believe the dial is the forehead adjuster. The key is if it will be a better fit araound the mouth.

We'll wait and see

Understood

I realize that the UMFF is not the activa. I simply meant that the overall 'look' was familiar, and as such, there is some comfort to that similarity. My kids were initially afraid of the mask, and it took some time for me to get them to accept the activa. When they saw this one, they thought it was...

Thanks to ALL

Thanks to everyone for all of the advice. I went to my DME and wound up getting the UMFF. I have the resmed nose pillows and the activa nasal mask and this looks just like the activa, only slightly longer. It was 'familiar' which helps. I am lucky in that my insurance paid for all 3 masks. I tried t...

I already saw the stats, but I was more curious on the user opinion after purchase. I nopticed that whule still on top, the ultra mirage sales dropped while the comfort 2 increased.

Best Full Face Mask??

I know there must be a million posts on this on this site, but I have not been able to find many. I've searched on FF, full face, and every other combination I can think of. I have been approved for a FF and simply want to know which (most people) think is the best. I know it's subjective and everyo...

tried the strips and got a great nights sleep

I was worried about using the strips or cream - would it work? would it hold? Could I open my mouth if needed? Was there a bad taste? I went out and bought the strips and used as instructed by David (thanks). I tore it in half and taped the corners, leaving a small untaped area in the center of my m...

Thanks for the extremely speedy reply. I went back on to edit my post (correct a misspelled word that made it through spellcheck) and already found a reply! This site and it's participants are a true gift.

Please detail the application of the strips

I am very interested in the polygrip strips. I am a mouth breather and can not tape (mustache & beard). I was reluctant to use the cream, and the strips sound like the answer. I was reading about how to apply and am still a little confused...do I just place the strips on the corners of my mouth or d...
