Re: Backup Equipment Necessary?

Paul, You are correct Sir... You certainly can get a machine overnited to you very easily. I have sent many a person a machine overnite due to every situation imaginable. I had lots of customer's who had multiple houses and had a machine in every house, so they would not have to undo the machine on ...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.

Greetings Mitzi, In CPAP therapy, I would consider myself a success story. I am just like thousands of people who use this therapy in the world. It works for me better than anything else I have tried. I owe my life and career to being diagnosed and treatment of OSA. Instead of typing my long story, ...

Re: Backup Equipment Necessary?

Greetings Folks, If you are a Medicare patient there is a rule that states that you must get someone to give you in person support within, I do believe, 2 to 4 hours. It may just be 2. So, what I am saying is, that if you had a machine dispensed to you from a homecare company and Medicare bought it,...

Re: Nasal mask & nasal pillows vs full face mask. Asphyxiation?

Not everyone who is told that they need nasal surgery will get it done. It is a brutal surgery and the price tag for me was $26,000. My insurance covered it, but it was not an easy recovery. I do like it better now that I can breathe through my nose, but I have used quite a few full face masks in my...

Re: what do you think of these results?

You have moderate sleep apnea. You have more events in REM than NREM and you have quite a bit of hypopnia. You definitely could benefit from the use of a CPAP. Your next step. An overnight titration. It is good that they did not split the study and gathered a full night of data. They will now have a...

Long Time No See

Hello Everyone,

It has been a long time since I last posted. My name is Ted. I am one of the people who started this forum. Yep, that was several years ago. I am so happy to see it has grown so much, and helps so many people.

Nice to be back,

Ted

Re: Hello from Titrator

Davecpap, Since I have lost a lot of weight... 50lbs, after leaving cpap.com, I do feel a lot better, like a whole new person. There is a huge social stigma that surrounds people of weight. Somehow I don't get called big guy anymore. That feels good. I don't worry about fitting into airplane seats. ...

Re: Hello from Titrator

My pressure definitely went down, but it was not a cure for me. It may be if your AHI is mild or moderate and you go through as much as I have done, but as my ENT said before the sinus surgery. You can pretty much expect your AHI to be cut in half by having a turbinate reduction and deviated septum ...

Hello from Titrator

Hi Folks, It has been a very long time since I last posted on the forum. I now live in TN where I grew up. Hurricane Ike pretty much sold me on coming back to Tennessee. It had been 10 years since I had set foot in the state, but since the rest of my family had left and all had returned. I thought I...

Re: MACHINE SELECTION

There are many machines that will work for you, depending on your budget. Data capability will help you and your doctor with your therapy. That is the only way to go. If you money is tight, like almost everyone on the planet at this time, you can try http://www.cpapauction.com. Cpapauction is run by...

Re: OT: Weightloss Surgery- contemplating it

I had the Gastric Bypass in October of 2005 and my surgery went well. I have been able to keep off the weight that I initially lost. For me it was the right choice. Don't let people talk you out of it who have not had this done. It is a very personal choice. Listen to your heart. If you feel you can...
