Hi Sleepngo, I had a turbinate reduction, septoplasty and reduction of mucosa on sinus wall on Thursday. I am still doped up on Vicodin and in a lot of pain. From what I am told by my ENT, is the UPPP will only cut your apea index number in half. So, if you are having 70 AHI per hour, you will ultim...

Not sure who would want a huge oximeter/blood gas analyzer at the house. . Major overkill.. but may be good for the boy/girl scientist in us all.

A huge Thank You to everyone. I remember being first diagnosed with sleep apnea and how much better I started feeling after I started cpap. It truly changed my life. I remember thinking how much I wanted to spread the word about cpap. It changed my life so much, that I changed careers to work in thi...

Sleep Technologist Board Exam

HI Folks,

I got the news today that I passed the sleep boards. I am now an RPSGT. This has been a goal for the last 5 years and I am thrilled and relieved to get the news.

Since I am very close to many of you I wanted you to be the first to know.

Ted Nugent, RPSGT

I have used Nasonex and other prescribed steroidal sinus meds till the cows come home and I really want the turbinate reduction. I trust my doctor, because he has done so many of these and knows a lot about sleep apnea.

I have been using the same M Series humidifier for the last year and have not had any leaking issues. I know closer to the release of the M Series platform there we leak issues with a chamber but that has long since been taken care of. I don't know of any leaking issues of the last 6 or 8 months.

I think that the Resmed machines are well made and quiet, but I tend to like the technology behind the Respironics machines. A-Flex and C-Flex in Auto Mode are both great features. Their Encore Pro Viewer software is very easy to understand for the average user and it is also Vista compatible. I can...

Wow... I would definitely go to an ENT and tell him your story. Radium up your nose sounds terrifying. Perhaps there are other things that could be wrong with your sinus passages that contribute to your situation. I went to the ENT after 7 years of cpap and found that my turbinates were enlarged and...

Hi Folks,

REM sleep is the reason you are having an erection. Sexual Arousal is one of the things that happens to the body during REM. Women also become aroused during REM sleep.

Congratulations for getting into REM.
