Re: F&P Pilairo Mask Review & ResMed S9AutoSet cpap machine
The Pilairo is the first mask I've tried after 7 years on the F&P Flexi-Fit HC707 nasal mask. It's a huge improvement as far as leaks, and comfort. Raising the mask up a bit is about the only adjustment I make after putting it on. MY old mask would awaken me with high pitched noise caused by moistur...

Re: recording myself to check if I'm snoring
I recorded my sleep sounds with a cheap Sansa Clip MP3 player with record function. I used the free software and method shown in this link to zero in on the snoring and sleep disturbances:

Re: Low Vitamin D level appears to cause sleep apnea
This kind of 'discovery' could be best announced at a national scientific conference. Studies of subjects and placebos should have been done with a significant number of subjects enough to extrapolate the data. Did this doctor do that? Since there's little money to be made from Vitamin D sales, who...

Travel: ZZZpap Auto Pap?
I'm looking for a compact and lightweight xPap for an extended trip. I will be traveling very light with just one carry-on size bag. My home unit is an old Remstar Plus with CFLEX. Too heavy and bulky . I'm considering getting an used ZZZpap Auto pap. The specs mention the weight of the unit, but do...

Re: Flexifit 407 Mask: Noise From Elbow Vent Holes
The S9 Autoset which I had agreed to purchase today was actually a S9 Elite. I passed on the deal.

Re: Flexifit 407 Mask: Noise From Elbow Vent Holes
Thanks for the suggestions! After my initial post, I found a used S9 Autoset with humidifier which takes the ClimateLine hose (which wasn't included ). The sale includes a new mask, so I'll give the new set a try, before I buy the heated hose for it. Existing System: Remstar Plus with CFLEX Remstar ...

Re: Flexifit 407 Mask: Noise From Elbow Vent Holes
I just used a tie wire on the holes, but there didn't seem to be anything blocking the holes.

Flexifit 407 Mask: Noise From Elbow Vent Holes
Seems that condensed moisture is blocking some of the air vent holes in the non-diffuser elbow on my F&P HC 407 Flexifit nasal mask. This causes a very irritating howl. If I run my finger along the inside of the elbow I feel water. Sometimes tapping the elbow dislodges the moisture for a few minutes...

Re: Sleep Lab Model Masks
The seller is sending me the correct size mask. So this exercise in frugality may end well.
Good point about not wetting the foam inserts. Those in my HC407 seem to require replacement once a year at least.
Thanks for all the replies!

Re: Sleep Lab Model Masks
Well, my bargain mask deal is a bust even though the "Sleep Lab" mask is very likely identical to the retail mask. I specifically ordered a F&P Zest "standard size". The seller assured me that he had one, and we made a deal. When I examined the label on the plastic mask bag it reads "Zest Plus". Acc...

Re: Sleep Lab Model Masks
Thanks for the replies. I've looked it over for a "SL" designation on the mask and didn't find any. It has probably been used. It was in a ziplock bag. I think I'll give it a bath in some soapy water and wipe the contact surfaces with a little hydrogen peroxide. It wouldn't be logical for a manufact...
