Hi, I have one of the Auto SV machines. I have the small valve ( I'll call it a check valve) in the inlet of the humidifier. The flapper goes in first . The machine I have although new is an older style. The Respironics system One machines seem to use the SD card where as the machine I have uses the older, larger Smart Card. I guess they don't offer a machine configured like this in the system one line. I am using the REMStar BiPAP AutoSV Advanced. ...

generic smart card reader in place of the Risponics

Hi folks, before I spend 65 bucks for a Respironics smart card reader I am trying to determine if one of the regular smart card readers you see advertised would work. Has anyone tried any of them. 8 bucks sure looks better than 65.

Wow, thanks for the encouragement and the great wealth of information. I really appreciate you taking the time John. It will take me a while to digest all this. Just and update.... I slept really well last night. Only woke up once after about 6 hours because of rain out in the hose making a gurgling...

Well I slept with the BPM set to Auto and it worked fine. Still took a while to get to sleep. Guess , I'll get used to it eventually.

Hi Michael, thanks for the reply. The setting from the machine are: 6cm H2O EPAP 10cm H20 IPAP Min 25cm H2o I PAP Max 10 BPM 1.2 Sec Ti Rise time 4 Ramp 40 Ramp start 5 cm H2O Apnea 0 seconds. HI folks, I just got a Respironics Bi Pap Auto SV w/humidifier. Things seem to settle down when I get to sleep, but getting to sleep is a problem. The machine seem to cut off my air at times on inhale. I think it has something to do with the no. of breaths per minute settings but I'm not sure. You w...
