Re: Has anyone's follow-up tritration yielded a lower #?

Hi Den, Thanks for the response but, I guess I need to know what are acceptable levels for which indicators? It seems to me (from reading the sleep study) that all they really did in order to determine my pressure was to start at one setting and keep increasing it to see when one of the measured cri...

Has anyone's follow-up tritration yielded a lower #?

All, I've now [religiously] used my cpap therapy since April 1st, 2010. My average monthly AHI is .02 It was assumed my A-Fib was caused (at least in part) by the spouse identified sleep apnea, Subsequently verified by sleep center. My pressure was determined to be 14 and that is what I used all alo...

Re: Going in to hospital for cardiac catheterization

AndrewB,

You should definitely take your cpap with you. The ONLY hitch could be your having a prescription for it. You may want to either check with your hosp or get a copy [of Rx] from your sleep doc.
Good Luck.

Roster,

That IS the funniest thing! Thanks, I needed a good laugh.

Todd

PS - why is that these folks don't want to sleep on their backs? Does it exacerbate the apnea condition?

Re: Study: OSA Underestimated in Those With Atrial Fibrillation

Tony, I realize everyone is different but, what worked for me (within 4 days of starting it was "amiodarone". It is, according to my cardiologist, the best drug available today but, it comes with some potentially nasty side affects. However, I know right where you were when afib had you down for the...

Re: Charges to obtain my own medical records

Mine provides a copy to me no charge. After $4,000 for the study that's the least they could do. Separate but related....ditch the DME. They charge WAY OVER what the machines can be had via online providers. Ex. my DME sells the PR model I have for $2,100 or they'll rent it for $258.00 per month (in...

Re: Sharing software

Jerry, I see you have both patient and clinician versions of the SW. I tried to see what data/features come with each but, Respironics.com will not divulge clinician data points and patient version [info] only shows first page of a/or the only report. You seem to have the experience......your though...

Re: I switched from APAP to CPAP

Hello all, I hate to dig up the past but, I've been researching APAP vs. CPAP and found this thread. Lively group! . I am on CPAP (14 cm + 2 liter O2) for 2 months now and like you all know, only you can really advocate for you. My AHI over my initial 6 weeks averaged 0.6 which I assume means my sle...

Re: Want to get the old-time nosebreathing religion?

Continuing on with the info that Rooster re-posted....me, being new to CPAP and this forum, has anyone or group put together a "top TEN" of facts regarding CPAP and associated therapies? The info re-posted by Rooster appears and sounds like a fact. I have been looking into getting a full face mask t...
