Re: Memory issue
Hi Roman, I am ridiculously new to the forum and find your question interesting for a younger person of 42. My Father is dealing with some memory issues and the one thing that has helped most is organization in the home. Beyond knowing people, your safety and security is way more important that rem...

Re: Memory issue
High school was about 25 years ago. And I have a good memory now, but lost a lot since then.

Re: Air sense 10 auto condensation?
Turning down the humidity may or may not help if the extra moisture coming from your own exhale breath is tipping the scales. Why not just increase the hose air temp and try to warm the air in the nasal pillows so it doesn't cool and release the moisture? Okay. So, I went full auto on the heat and ...

Re: Air sense 10 auto condensation?
Will give that a shot. Thank you.
Been warming it up, preheating, and now, it's making a popping/bubbling noise as I inhale. Ugh.

Memory issue
I'm in my post grad period for my mental health counseling license and have been wondering for some time about the effect of OSA on memory. I was dxed in 2010, but probably have been suffering with OSA for about 20 years. Friends have had to remind me who other friends and acquaintances are. I only ...

Air sense 10 auto condensation?
I live in upstate NY where the temperature is in the single digits this week. I let you know in advance that the RH is incredibly low. We have a whole house humidifier running right next to the air return to the Central HVAC unit. I've done auto climate control and also have set to 69F/"4" humidity....

Re: Prescription Needed To Order New Mask
What about changing to a national provider like Lincare or American HomePatient? I was with AHP for a few years under Aetna. Went to BCBS and lost AHP, so went to a regional provider. Then, because my new DME is covered "top tier" on a 3-tier structure, I changed coverage. FInd an AHP or someone els...

Re: Data check? Sleepyhead interpretation
If insurance is going to pay for them and I can keep them around in the event I ever change employers (and coverage!) again, I can use the spares. I usually go 4 weeks on a filter and a pillow.
And I don't keep the water chamber and hose clean like I should either. Bad patient...

Re: Why is it necessary to have a support team?
Call your insurance company and ask which suppliers (DME) are in their network. Exactly. My new insurance provider has 3 levels of coverage. Affiliated (I work for a hospital), in network (non-affiliated), and out of network. So, I called the insurance company and they report that my Sleep Doc is a...

Re: New, please forgive question
This morning, however this is what it read: Usage Hours: 0.22 (??? I slept 7 hours) Events per hour: 8.1 !!! This freaked me out! was "this morning" sometime after noon? First, I agree with Julie. We help each other. No bad questions here. Only unasked ones. I was thinking the same thing, palerider...

Re: Data check? Sleepyhead interpretation
My old DMEs (American HomePatient and then Upstate Homecare) didn't do anything except keep me supplied. But, with the new machine, gotta get things going my way again. The fact that I had my appt with my sleep specialist last Wednesday and got my machine this Wednesday with the insurance prior auth...

Re: Prescription Needed To Order New Mask
If your doctor was affiliated with a particular hospital, reach out to that hospital (or even the sleep lab where you were studied) to find out where his records might be. Of course, if he was a part of a medical practice, you could always see if they might direct you to the right place. Just becaus...

Re: Long time, no see. Upgraded and unsure.
it sounds like you need to raise your minimum pressure. you have been used to using 14 cm H20. just bump up your minimum pressure and it should be more comfortable and easier to fall asleep. That's my thought as well. Is there any danger to having more pressure than what the machine sets to? Other ...

Re: Data check? Sleepyhead interpretation
Ah, yes. The link that Pugsy posted is the clinical manual. I should have tried the same controls to get into the clinical settings as the S9. They're the same, after all. I'm a bit angry at my DME (who actually works with my new Sleep doc, that's a good thing). He told me that the SmartStart wasn't...
