Re: Driver falls asleep, bus crashes
Hello! Being from Belgium, I saw that on the news this weekend... And I had exactly the same reaction you had... maybe the driver has undiagnosed OSA... I try to explain to people around me what OSA is, and I "suspect" many to suffer from it without knowing it... When possible, I advise them to go f...

Dry mouth but no leaks
Hello there! Using a Resmed Swift nasal pillows mask, I have spent quite some time to fight mouth leaks. What I do now : - I use chinup strips (quite efficient) - I a use a chin strap - I use some polygrip to perfect the mouth seal. With all that, it's pretty impossible for the air to escape from my...

Re: I Might be an Ex-Taper!
Hello! I'm bringing this topic to life again... I am using nasal pillows (Resmed Swift II) and I have serious mouth leaks. I'm pretty sure I'm not a mouth breather, I just have leaks through my mouth. Anyway, I have a chinstrap (Resmed, pretty bad). I use chinup strips (but they are too expensive in...

Help for interpreting data from Resmed S8 Elite II
Hello ! My everyday machine is the S8 Escape, with fixed pressure set to 11.6. I have a Resmed S8 Autoset Elite II for the weekend (lent by the hospital) to check if I need pressure change and if everything else is ok (leaks, AHI, ...). I used it for the first time this night and here are my numbers...

Re: Some general questions and call for testimonials
Borck, if you've been using the same mask for 8 months it may well be that the cushions need to be replaced. Or even a new mask needed. And the headgear may be stretched out and need adjusting or replacment. Have you gained or lost weight? It may be that your pressure setting needs to be adjusted. ...

Re: Some general questions and call for testimonials
Hi, welcome to the forum! Can I ask why, if you know you have mouth leaks, you have not tried a full face mask? There are very good ones, but it's important to get the right size and fit for you. Popular ones are the Quattro, Hybrid, Liberty and UltraMirage (which I use). Chin straps are known to n...

Some general questions and call for testimonials
Hello everyone! I'm quite new on this forum and I have some very general questions about the success of the CPAP therapy! So, I'm 27, was diagnosed with severe OSA a bit more that a year ago (AHI : +- 55). Since then, I'm using a CPAP. At first I received a nose mask, then I tried several other ones...

Re: Is it worth it to switch from Resmed S8 to S9 autoset
Bork One question(s) no one has asked is: "how is therapy with cpap going for you?" What are your numbers and how do you feel? Since apap unit would come out of your own pocket, before you decide on changing from cpap to apap, it would help if you could answer above so that others can help guide yo...

Re: Is it worth it to swith from Resmed S8 to S9 autoset
Hello carbonman, a few questions here : Rainout is controlled w/Ozzy heated hose in winter, PadaCheek cover in summer. I don't know about these, could you give me some pointers ? Card/software interface has become seamless and transparent. You need to buy a card reader, right ? For the S9, you only ...

Re: Is it worth it to swith from Resmed S8 to S9 autoset
I agree totally w/jnk. Full data capability, meaning Leak, AHI and AI data is much more important than APAP. Personally, I would NOT spend $1500 for an S9 AutoSet "if" I could get an S8 Elite II or S8 AutoSet II for half that or less. And w/the S8 II you would NOT need a new humidifier; your curren...

Re: Is it worth it to swith from Resmed S8 to S9 autoset
Hello there! I'm amazed about how reactive this forum is! Nice! About my machine, it doesn't give any information about AHI or leaks, whatsoever... That's one thing that seems appealing with the S9, I'm kind of a hands on person, so being able to see what happened last night, and following the evolu...

Is it worth it to switch from Resmed S8 to S9 autoset
Hello folks! I'm a newbie on this forum, so I guess I could introduce myself a little bit... I'm 27 (pretty yound to have OSA, right ?), and using a CPAP since april 2009. It is a Resmed S8, with humidifier and a Swift mask. Since I'm living in Belgium (sorry for my English by the way), the healthca...
