Re: How did you start therapy

I had a pulmonary embolism and the pulmonologist in the hospital recommended a sleep study. So glad he did since I thought I was fine and had few of the obvious symptoms.

Re: Shedding light on DME pricing vs Online

Here's what I got from my DME: 1. Delivery of a Cpap machine without data capability except for compliance. They did not tell me about other options, although they did exchange it for a data capable model after I insisted. They treated me like an idiot for asking. 2. They handed me a mask. Again, no...

Re: CPAP validation story

On New Years Eve 2009 I was in the emergency room with pulmonary embolism. It was unclear what caused the clots but the pulmonologist suggested a sleep study. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. Although the doctor did not say the blood clots were caused by sleep apnea, I think there is a conne...

Re: enough with these nasal pillows! now what?

I changed from pillows (Swift LT) to a Fisher & Paykel Zest nasal mask with great success. It just fits me really well and I'm more comfortable. I use Remzzzs and rarely have leaks.

Re: The Importance of Oximetry to Monitor Therapy

My sleep doctor ordered this for one night after I was on the Cpap for a few weeks. My oxygen dipped into the 80s so he raised my pressure from 7 to 8. At the subsequent office visit when I asked about a follow up with an oximeter he was irritated and said it's not necessary. I'm in the market for o...

Re: Does everyone with OSA or CSA have nocturia?

Elena, When I was diagnosed with OSA I had nocturia; I was getting up 3, 4, 5 or more times each night . Since starting CPAP I get up once, sometimes twice. Interestingly, when I get up more (2-3 times) my AHI is slightly higher, although still under 5. There is a definite connection for me. My goal...

Re: Need help understanding numbers

John - I have a nasal mask, no pillows.

I wish I could figure it out; I would really love to sleep through the night. But I know the numbers are pretty good and I do feel much better so I should count my blessings. I appreciate the advice from all of you. Thanks.

Re: Need help understanding numbers

Thanks Julie. I neglected to say that when I get up to use the bathroom I just unhook my mask and leave the machine running. Isn't that where the large leaks are coming from? Should I turn the machine off instead? I'm not sure if I have leaks; I'm not aware of any and my mouth is not dry in the morn...

Need help understanding numbers

I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea in March and started C-Pap. I felt much better right away - no more falling asleep in the evening. Also, I stopped getting up for the bathroom every two hours and generally got up only once or twice while sleeping 8 hours or more. It was wonderful. In the last...

Re: Need help with Encore 2.0

I don't see a button labeled Copy. My buttons say Download from Device and View Report. The calendar is there but I am unable to change the dates from those of the old report.

Need help with Encore 2.0

The first time I used Encore 2.0 I was able to download a report. But now I want to use it again and am unable to change the date range. It seems stuck on the dates of the original report. I tried clicking on the calendar and also tried to change the date in the box. Neither seems to work. What am I...
