I use the Respironics Auto and love it. The c-flex works for me. The Resmed looks to be a more compact unit, and I believe I saw a post indicating that it is a better selling machine than the Respironics. Either machine would probably work fine. Another option would be to wait a few weeks (or maybe ...

Is your CPAP an old machine? I bought the Encore Pro software when I bought a new APAP machine. I installed the software and reader and downloaded the data from my old CPAP. I could see the data in EncorePro, but not in MyEncore, getting the same message you are getting. When I downloaded data from ...

There is nothing wrong with the machine your doctor is perscribing. There are others out there, and some may argue that they are better, but about as many would argue the Respironics was the better machine. As for the mask, it is personal choice. I think most of the people in this forum would sugges...

I use the Breeze, and I know what you are talking about. When I switched to the breezefrom a mask, I noticed an increase in exhalation effort. I think it has to do with the small vent hole and small volume of the nose piece (less area in the mask area to distribute the pressure when you exhale). You...

I occasionally mouth breathe, but I only started when my pressure was raised to 12. Since my pressures should be lower, I anticipate it will stop. I also get the feeling that I started mouth breathing due to the exhalation pressure on my old CPAP and carried it forward when I inhaled. Since my new A...

I go through spells of mouth breathing. I think I tend to mouth breath when I have nasal congestion. I also started mouth breathing after having my pressure increased and I think it may have been the exhalation against the pressure that started it. I am now on an APAP with c-flex (my old CPAP didn't...

It is minimally true. No, it will not cause cancer, aids, bubonic plague, athletes foot, and fingernail fungus. But when I worked in a hospital there was a case of an elderly woman that habitually put vaporrub (a petroleum based jelly product) up her nose for congestion problems (please note - this w...

Got my new APAP yesterday
I got my new APAP and software from cpap.com yesterday. A Repironics with c-flex. I used it last night with the default 4 - 20 cm pressure range, and was surprized that I only got to 8 cm of pressure, and only left 4 cm of pressure for 1 out of 7 hours. MyEncore shows only 5 HSAs and 1 OSA. I did, h...

BiPAP vs Auto CPAP
I have been on CPAP for 4 years. Although I feel much better, I never felt like I was fully alert (still a little sleepy). After another discussion with my sleep doctor, when he wanted to do a 3rd sleep study to adjust my CPAP pressure, I decided to try my luck elsewhere. I still had to have another...
