The "Undead" or proper rehab of a zombie!
I am only on Day 3 of my new apap machine and sleepweaver mask and am shocked, dazzled, ecstatic about the results! I'm hoping the improvements will continue but was hoping I could compare some notes with all of you..... I started with a regular CPAP just a over month ago with a pressure level of 10...

Re: Reactions of other less informed c-pap users.
Hello all, I've really appreciated this forum - it's much "richer" in information than the manufacturers' sites and my medical providers. I think the reason most apneans (love that) don't want to talk about it is denial/shame. It's a drag to learn you snore, have to strap some alien appliance to you...

Re: Is a sleep study really necessary?
I did look at the auction sites and saw some amazing deals but I saw a few articles online about sanitizing a used cpap machine - would you have any concerns about that? I must admit I'm a little put off about using a used machine - might be silly but some cpap users have some serious issues and it ...

Re: Is a sleep study really necessary?
Thank you for the feedback! After reading more of the forum I've decided to purchase my own oximeter (researching away...). My machine is basic but it is really quiet and so far, so good. (Rooster - I hope I'm on third base!). Besides an excellent oximeter is there any other equipment I could get th...

Re: Chronic Fatigue, Hypothyroid, Adrenal Fatigue, Folic Acid
Very interesting information! I'm especially appreciating your book references - thank you! Some comments: re: Thyroid medication You might consider Armour thyroid. I was on synthroid and a compounded t3 supplement for 3 years. My new doctor switched me to Armour and I noticed that a sort of jitteri...

Re: Chronic Fatigue, Hypothyroid, Adrenal Fatigue, Folic Acid
Hey Jen, Dr. L (wunder-doctor) gave me a basic primer on Gluten Free eating (no wheat, no oats), had me eliminate dairy (almond milk is a great substitute). Before the wheat-fast she did a blood test and then after the fast another. Apparently there is an antibody that will show up if you are gluten...

Re: Chronic Fatigue, Hypothyroid, Adrenal Fatigue, Folic Acid
Hi Jen, It is frustrating to try to navigate through all the information, supplements, "save yourself" books and somewhat sketchy advice offered by many so-called healthcare "professionals". After suffering similar symptoms, especially the morning routine of waiting for the "spell" to pass so that y...

Re: Desperate Ready to Throw in the Towel 2
Bacteria and organisms love warm, wet environments... I would also suggest that you take apart the entire system and thoroughly clean EVERYTHING that you can in a 10 part water, 1 part vinegar solution. Replace all the filters with brand new ones. Get the system squeaky clean... Joe This is a tad b...

Re: Is a sleep study really necessary?
Thanks for the feedback... I had anticipated buying a more sophisticated machine in the future if I found my intial experience worthwhile. I hadn't quite convinced myself that this was the right path (getting past having to wear a mask every night - yee gads) and figured that $170 was a cheap invest...

Is a sleep study really necessary?
I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. My new doctor suggested I have a diagnostic test performed by a local pulmonary support company. I wore a device on a finger overnight and the results per my physician were pretty severe. I'm 53, struggling with thyroid deficiency and anemia, low energy, fi...
