Re: Experiences with AirTouch Memory Foam mask review
Thanks for that, I have considered going to a dry-eye specialist, ophthalmologists all tell me it's the vaseline getting into my eyes and plugging the tear glands. But not using vaseline is worse. There is a pill for dry eye I have been wanting to try (restasis). Back to the N20/F20 review, now that...

Re: ResMed AirSense 10, cant use humidifier without side effects
Post the prescription too, the humidifer settings warm the air as well as humidifying it. I wonder if it's the heat. Do you use climateline (heated) tubing with it? I get lightheadedness from a number of things but not from a humidifier on my S10: - strap too tight which restricts blood flow to the ...

Re: New to CPAP and SO DISGUSTED with MASKS!!!
I recently had to switch masks, and switch to a full face mask for the same reason (mouth leakage). Major pain, I sympathize. I ended up spending a lot of money at cpap.com ordering masks, the mask insurance is helpful, although somewhat painful to use. In the past, for me, ResMed has reliably made ...

Re: N20 Airtouch memory foam cushion-remove for cleaning
I had to read the instructions to do it.
Fingernail on the outer container, in the little notch there on the side, nail pressing on the cushion hard plastic, causes the two to separate slightly, and it pops out.
You did know that only brain surgeons and rocket scientists find CPAP easy right?

Experiences with AirTouch Memory Foam mask review
I though I would post my experiences, and see what others thought also. Resmed ceased production on my old mask, and switching is traumatic and the surprise caused a full panic, requiring ordering masks blindly, until finding one that worked. I started with the Resmed AirTouch (Memory Foam) N20 nasa...

Re: Resmed S9 elite vs. AirSense™ 10 Elite CPAP Machine with Hum
I had two S9's an auto-set, then an elite. Now I have the air-sense 10 which is still new within a few months. My 'sense' (haha) is that the humidifier on the 10 is much better, it has a bigger tank and can be set to deliver more humidity, other than that it feels exactly the same to me, it took me ...

Re: How often to replace a mask or nasal pillow?
My DME recommends every six months. Keep your old one though, I find they stretch a bit, and adjusting to a new one is a chore, an argument for either less or more frequent replacement depending on how you view it, replace before it stretches, or go through the adjustment period less often. The old ...

Re: Stupid Question: Can you block the outgoing air from mask?
The short answer is yes, and you don't want to do that. But there is a big can-o-worms behind that question. I have a mask that is easy to bury and block, at least it makes noise when partially blocked which wakes me up sometimes. Our human noses are formed so you can still breath when your nose is ...

Same thing happened to me, I lost 35 lbs, got down to within 7 lbs of my high-school weight, and sleep apnea remained.

Re: This isn't working, need help.
For noise, louder noise helps to a point, a fan or air filter is what I use, but you rapidly become 'addicted' to the noise source to sleep. For leaks, I cover my face with lanolin or petrolatum where the mask contacts my face, that reduces but does not eliminate leaks, must shower when I get up to ...

Re: CPAP/Stroke-like symptoms: Help!?
Even if it is not CPAP you have to do the diligence to rule it out. If it is silent migraines, serotonin enhancers may help, if it is the kind of migraine caused by low serotonin levels (I have this kind), like 2000mg L-tryptophan before bed, that did wonders for mine. Taking one Aspirin at bedtime ...

Re: is CPAP machine ok inside my checked bag?
I didn't know about the FAA rule there, good to know, anyone know if that is common on international flights too?
Personally I would never check a CPAP machine, replacement cost is on me, so I avoid the risk.

Just got my Resmed AirSense 10
This is my once every few years post, I'll share some of the things I have learned on the way as I drive by. After five years and two S9's (one auto and one elite), the second S9 broke (like the first one before it) and I couldn't buy a new one so was "forced" into an A10. cpap dot com to the rescue...

Re: New to cpap and eye strain?
I developed dry-eye a few months after starting CPAP, but I have never found definitive proof of a link to CPAP. In my case the oil glands (meibomian glands) are misbehaving. If you developed it wihin days that seems a stronger link than my case. I am reasonably sure that what happens at night cause...

Re: S9 Climateline tubing
I have used both kinds of tubing, in warm temps it doesn't matter that much. In colder ambient temps the climateline is much better, the regular tubing gets a lot of condensation when it gets cold. One downside to the climateline hose is I have had them go bad, the S9 would say the hose had a fault,...
