Re: Now I know what deep sleep is!
I remember the day I woke up after the lab tech told me that I had really bad OSA and he was obligated to put me on a CPAP the first night of my test. I only got 3 hours of sleep under CPAP that night but WHAT A DIFFERENCE I FELT!

I have used bottled or purified water temporarily as well for a few days with no problems. You should be fine.

Re: Can high humidity cause an infection?
I have been a CPAP user since 2010. In that time period I have had tons of sinus infections, about once every 1-2 months. ... While you unfortunately have had a negative experience with this, others like myself have had the reverse issue. I've used CPAP/BiPAP/ASV for more than 20 years at this poin...

Re: Can high humidity cause an infection?
I have been a CPAP user since 2010. In that time period I have had tons of sinus infections, about once every 1-2 months. I used to think it was because of allergies and dry air. I had my humidity settings set to the highest level (5) but still kept getting a lot of infections. Last year I decided t...

Re: New Vader head May the force be with us.
Speaking of being a Vader head, I started CPAP on March 2010 and have been 99% compliant. For father's day this year my wife got me a birthday card with Darth Vader that would play Vader's breathing noise when you open the card and he would say "Luke, I am your father". It had me laughing and she to...

Re: facial swelling
I used to have intermittent eye swelling as well, but from suggestions on this forum I tried using an eye mask and have never experienced the swelling ever since. The theory seems to be that sometimes air can leak out of the nasal pillow and blowing air over the eye can cause the swelling.

Re: puresleep
I just wanted to share my experience, I tried this product a few years ago for about 3 days and it just did not work for me. I kept waking up because of the pain in my teeth. I may have weak gums and I may also be grinding my teeth in my sleep which may complicate things with the device.

Re: Laid-off/Legal recourse?
Thank you all for your responses, it sounds like I'm up the creek without a paddle in this case. I did read the info in the JAN website, I guess the best bet for me is to take the severance package and forget trying to fight it legally. Ah well, time to tighten the belt and hope for the best.

Laid-off/Legal recourse?
Hi all, I was notified by my employer that I am being laid-off because of my poor performance last year. I was diagnosed with OSA 4 years ago but only started getting treatments last year. Since my OSA symptoms were not that severe I decided not to get treatment at the time. In late 2008, My wife ha...

Re: Water in CPAP tubing
Turn your humidifier down. Increase the temperature in your bed room. Wrap the hose in a snuggy. Use a hose-management system that lifts the hose in the middle. I used to have the same exact problem of "rainout" when I was starting out on CPAP. I did the snuggy and hose management system that Jimbo...

Re: SORE, SWOLEN EYES
For the swollen eyelids I used to suffer from those occasionally until I followed some suggestions on this forum and began using an eye mask. So far for about a month I haven't had any swelling. The theory is some sort of mask leakage occurs and blows air over the eyes causing dryness.

Re: Sinus Congestion with CPAP Therapy
I have been on CPAP since April of 2010. Since then I have had 4 - 5 sinus infections. Some were severe enough and last for quite a long time that I needed strong antibiotics. My regular doctor suggested that the sinus infections are a complication of my CPAP but not necessarily caused by the CPAP i...

Re: Air In The Stomach?
This has happened to me as well but only once or twice 6 months into my therapy. It is very unpleasant and had me scared to go back to sleep later that night and use my CPAP. Fortunately it hasn't happened lately and it's worth the risk of the pain to get a good nights sleep. I believe the reason I ...

Re: Is this really how sleep feels?
I may be in the minority but the first night I tried CPAP during my sleep study, I felt a world of difference in how I felt the next day. Normally I would be extremely sluggish and had this lingering fog of a headache that took hours to get rid of in the morning. The sleep technician woke me up at 6...
