Re: how good is RemZzzs liner to prevent mask leaks?

If you like Remzzs, save one (for the shape) and cut your own from soft thin t-shirt material. Thats what I do to save money. They help with comfort and prevent oil build up on my mask cushion which for me leads to leaks. I have oily complexion. Also same helps if you use lotion on your face at bedt...

Re: Provigil vs Ritalin...Cost vs Results

Oh gosh I'm pregnant, thats why I'm so tired! Just kidding. Yeah two sub theraputic doses doesn't make sense unless it works well but wears off too quickly. I think I would have insomnia if I took any in the afternoon. In my case it seems to work well and then loses it's effectiveness over time. 150...

Re: Legal Issues

If I am to believe the media, Mcdonalds is to blame..They have brain washed me into eating too many fattening cheese burgers and fries causing me to gain weight and now I have sleep apnea. I think I have a case! Does anyone know a good attorney?

Re: Provigil vs Ritalin...Cost vs Results

I have been skipping my weekend dose and taking my 150mg of Nuvigil at about 10-11am. I feel quite drowsy some days. I may ask for a higher dose. I ran out and didn't fill my script for a week (felt very drowsy/sleepy that week). The following week it worked very well (wide awake) and then seems to ...

Re: How much sleep is needed for an overnight sleep test?

2 hours of sleep minimum during a split night (less if after 2 hours of bedtime respiratory events are so frequent that they prevent sleep progression and if averaged by 2 hours the AHI is >15), 6 hours of bedtime for a full diagnostic (medicare guideline). Sleep time and bedtime are not the same. T...

Re: Frustrated and Discouraged

You said,"By adjusted to xPAP fine, I mean that it was well tolerated, I didn't have to spend a lot of time "learning" to wear it, it just seemed to "work". But, I was still tired, cranky, all the other symptoms I had before were still present. I was only on straight CPAP for a few days." If you did...

Re: ff mask and sore throat

Raise your humidifier level a little each night to see if you'll feel better. If you feel better but get rainout use a tubing cover. You can make one out of socks or buy one. I would have a sore throat on a setting of 1 others do fine on 1.

Re: Frustrated and Discouraged

What do you mean by "adjusted to XPAP fine"?
Do you mean XPAP was well tolerated and you were sleeping well but still feeling tired/sleepy?
Why did they switch you to Auto BiPAP?

Re: Filtering out fumes

You need a Carbon monoxide dectector ASAP right in the room where you are sleeping. Carbon monoxide is odorless but is associated with fumes/smoke. If there is enough fumes to need filtering something is wrong with the ventialtion of your boat. Of course A CPAP unit does not concentrate the air but ...

Re: Surgery for Sleep Apnea

"Success" for this type of surgery is medicaly defined as a lowering of your AHI. In the sleep lab we see this kind of "success" all the time, unfortunately it means you may still need CPAP to treat your symptoms. My experience has noted skinny people with something abnormally large in there upper a...

Re: Rem rebound????

You've just started so keep it up. Many find the sleep disruption you are experiencing diminishes over time. Perhaps REM rebound also. Do have any data from your cpap machine? If you do this information can help determine if your OSA is well treated. Consider the possibility of mouth breathing also ...
