FF mask trick

I just received a new CPAP, and decided to try a full face mask - a ResMed Airfit F20. I've used a pillow mask for 15 years, but I've had a little difficulty keeping my mouth closed. and end up with dry mouth and pain in my throat. The trick is this - I take the hose off the mask, put on he mask, TH...

Excellent. Couldn't find it in the clinician's manual. Thanks for the help, all.

Smart Start for a Series One REMstar?

My ResMed S8 was set up for smart start- it would automatically start when you breathed into it, and would shut off after 6 seconds of flow with the mask off.
Can the Remstar be set up the same way?

Re: Distilled vs. Bottled Water

Naughty fellow that i am, I've never used anything but tap water in five years. I just fill my humidifier reservoir with vinegar every sunday morning, and all the mineral disappears. If you didn't know, you couldn't tell by looking.

Re: My DME Horror story

Hello Wyowanderer! What you are describing regarding the amounts, though they seem rediculously high, is done so that the insurance allowable for the items you are getting is below the supplier charge. Keep in mind, your supplier could have put a million dollars down for the items, and all he would...

My DME Horror story

Last Wednesday my doctor asked me to get a new mask and hose (it's been working fine, but it's old) so I drove to my DME-I'll withhold the name for now- and asked for the new parts. He asked if it was going on my insurance, and I told him yes. He grabs a hose from the back room and a mask from the s...

Re: Humidifier for camping?

Wow, What a pain. Guess I'll look into a used M series and use it for camping and backup. More than a couple nights might be a stretch, though. Between the CPAP, furnace, and the 12V fridge, it looks like I'll have to run a genset during the day to keep all the batteries charged. Shudder . The propa...

Re: Humidifier for camping?

Have you tried to run a 120 watt inverter on the same battery that you are currently running your CPAP on? most of the newer inverters available are oure enough to run most electronincs and 110 watts max consuption yhou should be able to operate ok. or you could consider modifiing you unit to run o...

Humidifier for camping?

I've been using my Resmed S8 Elite II for a couple years, and I'm getting great results. Camping has been a little different story, though. I camp in a small slide in truck camper, wired for 12V power. I use Resmed's (spendy) 12V adapter for powering the machine, using the #i Humidaire in the off po...
