Any machines do a higher EPAP than IPAP
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is a VPAP/BiPAP machine that allows for a higher EPAP than IPAP? I need extra positive airway pressure when exhaling and my current machine seems to slack off when I exhale even though it's set to straight CPAP without any C-flex, etc. If anyone knows if...

Re: Smallest truly portable system?
I have both. When I'm using the small canisters and am ambulatory, I use a conserver (pulsed). When at home, I can do either. If it's decided that I need O2 at night with my CPAP tomorrow at my titration, then it will be constant flow. But for the use I'm referring to, it would only be while awake. ...

Re: Smallest truly portable system?
Basically, I'm looking for a machine that compact enough to where I can put it in a backpack with my O2 while ambulatory during the day so I can keep my airways open and better use the O2 than the cannula that I'm using now. It would make a huge difference for me trying to cope while awaiting a more...

Re: Smallest truly portable system?
What do you mean by XPAP? Not familiar with the term. And I thought that the AEIOmed Everest 3 was up to the specs of most any CPAP machine...with different bells and whistles obviously. This wouldn't replace my S9 for night and so far, I only need the O2 when ambulatory...hope that stays that way b...

Smallest truly portable system?
Hello, I'm on CPAP for tracheobronchomalacia rather than OSA and my condition is deteriorating to where I need to use it more than I can be tethered to an outlet. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the smallest truly portable CPAP system is? I don't jsut mean travel sized, that's not really a proble...

Re: New Resmed FF Mask Coming
Hello, I was wondering if anyone has heard about the new Redmed Full Face Mask that's supposed to be coming out later this summer/fall. My DME provider told me that a new one is coming out but she has very little info on it other than it's supposed to be a FF mask without a forehead support, suppos...

Re: New Resmed FF Mask Coming
It did hurt the bridge of my nose eventually but putting the inner part wasn't ever a huge problem for me...terio2 wrote:That new Resmed Full Face is probably like Resprionics full life, yes light weight but still hurts the bridge and a problem putting the inner face back on.

Re: CPAP for Tracheobronchomalacia
Insurance will not pay for any equipment with out a diagnosis. To get a diagnoses you must have a baseline study on room air, then when you are diagnosed with OSA then they apply CPAP to titrate your pressures. If they did not first diagnose you before applying CPAP, this could very well be the com...

Re: CPAP for Tracheobronchomalacia
That's a really interesting point. I hadn't really thought of that. The results would have been quite different had they done a split study, or at least it seems like they would be since the airways collapse so much on exhale. I guess they were just worried that it wouldn't be good for me to go with...

Re: CPAP for Tracheobronchomalacia
Just some thoughts: magnesium and omega 3 fatty acids are used to reduce inflammation and you've got the giant bogeyman of inflammation it sounds like -- ask your docs about an IV infusion of nutients including a slow drip of vitamin C, magnesium (I think they use magnesium sulfate in IVs), etc. Su...

Re: CPAP for Tracheobronchomalacia
Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about your condition. I hope the CPAP will help! We can definitely help with the 'technical' side of things I would think that breathing out against the pressure would actually help strengthen the airways (like resistance training builds muscle ) . But I'm not a ...

Re: CPAP for Tracheobronchomalacia
Oh, about the Quattro mask. They seem to want me in a FF mask because of the cough which makes sense. I actually don't mind the feel of a FF mask I just wish I had one that fit me. The RT that brought me the mask didn't take any time to fit me and we never put it on with the CPAP on - just kinda hel...

Re: CPAP for Tracheobronchomalacia
Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for making me feel so welcome! I really appreciate it. It feels good to have other people dealing with similar things even if they're not using the CPAP for the same reasons. I have been symptomatic all my life but I had pneumonia two years running when I was a very small...
