Can someone explain how the auto feature works on that system please. I have a Respironics PR1 which has a manual setting, probably like many others.
Does anyone know which humidifier system is best?
Thanks

Re: Is everyone here a mouth breather -----
Oh so I'm not alone....I'm not a mouth breather. I did the get a full face mask for when my nose is congested....but I'm having a really hard time to learn to breath through my mouth in this case. End up using the nasty nasal spray so I can get some air that way and eventually get to sleep. Wonder ...

Re: Is everyone here a mouth breather -----
Juan Boy - have you tried turning the humidifier down ? It often works, as having it on a high setting causes congestion in many people. I tried that and had unbelievable vasomotor symptoms so I cranked it up and had fewer problems. For myself, I would like to have more humidity than the machine ca...

Re: Is everyone here a mouth breather -----
I have vasomotor rhinitis - recently diagnosed - which has lasted for three months. Currently CPAP seems to make the congestion worse even with the humidity on high. So I thought that mouth breathing would relieve this.

Is everyone here a mouth breather -----
Just curious but it seems that most people in the forum are mouth breathers that are trying to convert to nose breathing for CPAP. Are there people here that are primarily nose breathers that have difficulty breathing through their mouth at night? ______________________________________ When I am con...

Turbinate Reduction- SMR vs Other
Hi All It seems that different people have had different procedures for turbinate reduction. Any recommendations on procedures that worked? I posted something similar but wanted to find out more about other people's experience just on turbinate reduction in general. The other posts that I found were...

Re: septoplasty and turbinate surgery
The microdebrider has been the most common instrument used for submucosal inferior turbinoplasty for nearly ten years now. If your surgeon wants to use something else, I would get a second opinion from a surgeon who does all of this surgery with the microdebrider. Really, Rooster? I went to four su...

Re: Turbinate Reduction- subcutaneous resection
Hi All Scarred to death.... I am planning on nasal surgery for reducing my hypertrophied turbinates. I read the earlier posts and would like to know: 1. How well the surgery worked for those that had SMR (subcutaneous turbinate resection), and 2. What was the post operation like My problem is that ...

Re: Turbinate Reduction- subcutaneous resection
Two months ago I had a deviated septum corrected along with SMR surgery. It took nearly three weeks postop, but I eventually was able to breathe through my nose most days and almost every night. Around six weeks, I was having trouble with nasal congetsion again so I added in daily flonase and now a...

Live in Houston, TX: hot and humid Bedroom AC: low humidity But...

vasomotor and cpap - any ideas
Hi I am new to the site and recently diagnosed with vasomotor rhinitis and sleep apnea. I know that vasomotor rhinitis has been discussed somewhat and that the symptoms and treatments are mixed but wondered what some people found that worked. There are a number of medical papers that claim that CPAP...

Re: Nose Plugs - Oracle or other
Makes sense, just hard to get used to I guess. I have three different masks: a full face, a nose, mask, and a converted nasal pillow mask with the pillows blocked. Currently, I have fairly severe nasal congestion and nose breathing seems to make it worse the following day. My sleep doctor claims tha...
