Re: Did you experience this side effect to treatment?
UPDATE: Ty is doing beautifully He just seemed to have an overnight change back to normal. It's really weird. We did consider options psychologically. It's agreed he has some anxiety, but no indication of any dxes that he had as a young child (and hasn't shown any real signs of or been treated for i...

Re: Did you experience this side effect to treatment?
Thanks for the input. I tried to be fairly vague; but basically, he's annoying, having attitude issues, and is a bit aggressive. He seems to be feeling everything much stronger. He obviously has much more energy (good and bad). He had, as a young child, several dxes, adhd being one of them. Of cours...

Re: Did you experience this side effect to treatment?
I fixed the machine in my profile. Sorry 'bout that. Numbers look good (just looked up what they mean): His AHI is 1.3 for 7 days and 2.4 for 30 days. Large Leak is 0% for both 7 and 30 days. Periodic Breathing is 0 for both 7 and 30 days. He's averaging just over 7 hours of therapy (he missed 3 nig...

Did you experience this side effect to treatment?
Did anyone become MORE irritable, frustrated, and angry after starting treatment? Maybe emotions were magnified? Maybe they were felt with more intensity? Tyler's behavior is significantly worse. What was just a bit annoying on day 3 is.....well, I don't want to get into that! But he is miserable an...

Re: Newbie here.
Thanks Dave, I definitely think activity is going to be a good thing on this! He's got a spring in his step, he's on the go, he's excited. I don't think I've seen this kid since he was like 7! I hope we can keep up with him! He'll be thrilled if he can lose a little weight. He gained a lot of weight...

Re: Newbie here.
We can already tell some behavioral differences. He used to be SO sleepy. He'd seem lethargic oftentimes, depressed? He'd be hyper or annoying, but it always seemed as a way to regulate the sleepiness, to stay awake. Now he seems to have *real* energy. He's not real sure what to do with it though wh...

Re: Newbie here.
Okay, I have been concerned about his breathing before. I tried to teach him to breathe with his nose (and down in his tummy rather than breathing UP his chest). He's impossible! So how do I encourage nose breathing at night if he's asleep? I can't seem to control myself during sleep and I seem a lo...

Re: Newbie here.
He *does* still have his tonsils. The lady at the hospital (Children's) said that he didn't have any structural issues. However, the lady that came to the house said they may suggest tonsil removal at some point.

Re: Newbie here.
Thanks for the welcome y'all.... For awhile, I've been thinking we needed to do a sleep study, but we just never did so. Another professional finally suggested it. Among other things, they wanted to rule out narcolepsy. I didn't think he had narcolepsy, just extreme daytime sleepiness. They said he ...

Newbie here.
Hello. I'm a newbie here. I have a lot of reading to do but thought I'd introduce myself. I'm the mom of Tyler, a wonderful 15 yr old who is currently using his CPAP machine for the first time! Anyway, basically, he had a sleep study done a few weeks ago. They tried several masks on him that night a...
