New ResMed AirFit P10
Just got the new ResMed AirFit P10. Amazing mask! So simple and light you cannot believe it will work or perform well. Only one night but I am impressed with it. I am a mouth breather and still use paper tape but numbers look good.

Does AHI and Pressure Rise with Age?
Sounds like a weird question but I have seen steady readings of AHI of 2-3 and pressure around 7-8 for several years. No changes in weight, equipment or daily habits but obviously grown older; numbers have changed to an average AHI of 4.2 and pressure of 8.9.....I am not upset with numbers per se bu...

Re: I need to new sleep study to get a hybrid. What???
Sometimes I wish ALL DME's, RTs and sleep docs suffered from sleep apnea. Maybe, just maybe they might understand the frustration some go through to comply with the prescribed therapy and people's needs for logical answers to legitimate questions. I, too, was told I needed a new titration for a new ...

The only negative is filling the reservoir. If not careful pouring in through the top, water, water everywhere.

Re: I Really Like This Machine-Remstar Auto A-Flex
That is great news! Glad you are so happy with your new machine, and it seems to be doing the trick for you! The new technology is making things better, that is for sure! What I loved about that machine, is how it followed your breaths around like a little labrador puppy.. enjoy! The puppy comment ...

I Really Like This Machine-Remstar Auto A-Flex
I don't post very often but I wanted to take a moment to mention how pleased I am with this new machine. It took getting used to with the 'Darth Vader" type sounds at first but the numbers are much better with this vs. my older machine which 'died' a few weeks ago. It has a dial which allows for imm...

Medi Wedge Mattress Insert
Many of us also suffer from GERD and I was advised to obtain a wedge type insert, not a pillow, but a device that goes between the mattress and box spring to elevate the entire mattress 4 inches or so as to sleep on a flat slope. Has anyone purchased a Medi Wedge insert and if so, what is your react...

Re: Off CPAP for Now...New Experiment
I totally understand where you are coming from. It's been 18 months on CPAP and it's been pretty bad most of the time. I have tried everything I can think of. Experimenting. Almost everything works for at least a couple nights. Then it stops helping. I keep using the CPAP because even though it's a...

Re: Off CPAP for Now...New Experiment
I have used an oximeter several times both on and off CPAP while hospitalized for another issue. My levels remained in the 90s. During the original diagnostic sleep study 3 years ago my average oxygen saturation was 96.3% and with CPAP 97.6%. The lowest desaturation was 84.4% without CPAP and 84.9% ...

Re: Off CPAP for Now...New Experiment
Would you like to sell your life insurance policy to me? I'd be happy to buy it. Get your butt to a sleep doctor immediately, and stop the foolish nonsense. You did't miraculously cure your OSA--I am a positional apnea person as well, and you'd never catch me without my autopap. If you want to expe...

Re: Off CPAP for Now...New Experiment
I agree with the others. I believe your decision is a mistake....and your body will suffer for it. Isn't there anyone in your life worth living for? Histrionics aside, my evaluation as of this moment is admittedly 100% subjective but I am more awake during the day. It is a temporary attempt at diff...

Re: Off CPAP for Now...New Experiment
I expected the responses but at the same time I know full well the current mask, taping and other attempts have all been failures. This is but a 'temporary' situation as I will make arrangements for another sleep study when I return to SW FL. I spend summers in Maine and could not find a local physi...

Off CPAP for Now...New Experiment
After many years as a back sleeper with the expected mouth breathing and with no luck finding a decent FF mask I decided to try and sleep on my side with no CPAP. So far, 3 nights and better sleep, no tape and no bloating. Any reaction, comments? Originally diagnosed 4 years ago with "moderate sleep...

Slanted,Sleeping Pillow for Back Sleepers?Type?
I have tried so many different kinds of sleeping pillows with not much luck. Since I am a back sleeper and with mild GERD I like to prop my pillows up so I sleep on a 'slant.' There must be a pillow out there designed for that and more importantly one that works. Doubling regular pillows does not wo...
