As far as your insurance goes it is probably best to call them as most have different schedules for replacing durable medical. For instance my insurance company United Healthcare will replace my CPAP every 3 years. Some are 5 years and some are less as far as the machine itself goes.

If your DME will replace the humidifier I would say go for it. I will say that before I got my climate line tubing the air did feel very cold coming out but I could feel the humidity also. The air did not feel warm at all though before the climate line tubing.
