Minimum pressure on APAP
I was recently diagnosed with severe OSA (36 RDI) and given a prescription for an APAP. My respiratory physician here in Malta, Europe said that I didn't have to worry about setting pressure as the APAP would do that for me. In the clinicians menu its currently set to the default min 4, max 20. Howe...

Re: Please help me interpret my report
Hey Roster, Yes that makes total sense. I have no idea why my respiratory physician thought it would be a realible/accurate test in any way. My low apneas could very well be effective therapy. I am definitley a very loud snorer as evidenced by my partner sleeping in another room and my family moanin...

Re: Please help me interpret my report
Thanks again Julie, thats very interesting since I was specifically told to sleep on my back to prevent the mask from leaking whilst on my side. There is no doubt my DME has no clue what he is talking about. Can anyone else spare a minute to let me know what my results tell them? I'd love to know if...

Re: Please help me interpret my report
Hi Julie, Thanks you so much for your reply! Im using a Respironics Comfort 2 Full face mask. I tried adjusting the mask throughout my trial and the only thing that seemed to stop the leaks was by making it so tight that it was very painful the next day around the sides of my nose. My wife often sai...

Please help me interpret my report
Hi everyone 5 weeks ago my doctor put me on auto-cpap for a month to diagnose whether I had sleep apnea. I know this is not a reliable form of diagnosis, but this is the way they do it here in Malta, Europe. The waiting list for a sleep study is over a year long! I was given a rental unit (Respironi...

Re: First night - Advice please
Good luck with that mask. I tried one a few years ago (it was similar to the one I had in my sleep study and I got curious and bought one) and only made it three nights before going back to my Ultra Mirage Full Face. The lower part of the seal cut into the area between my lip and chin. It also felt...

First night - Advice please
Hi fellow OSA sufferers! I just got a rental auto-cpap from my local DME on the advice of my respiratory physician to check a) whether I have OSA b) how severe it is (This is the way they diagnose here in my town in Europe). I rented a Remstar M series Auto with C-flex and purchased a comfort 2 full...

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
The new software is not compatible with Windows 7, they manage to make our life hard Now that all the new computers comes with Windows 7, they make it compatible only with Vista. No wonder why they are second ones . From Phillips-Respironics internet site: EncoreViewer: Features Patients can view a...

Re: S9 Autoset > S8 Autoset II + $300 ?
The S8 autoset II + H4i is $619 at cpapblowouts.com vs $907 at cpap.com = massive saving of $288 The S9 autoset + H5i is $899 at cpapblowouts.com vs $1072 at cpap.com = saving of $173 <-- both without comfortline hose I know cpap.com has an excellent reputation, but what am I missing here? How can c...

S9 Autoset > S8 Autoset II + $300 ?
Hi, first time cpap user and Im stuck! I decided on the S8 autoset II and now Im getting sucked into the advertising for the S9 even though it slightly exceeds my budget! Whats important to me is: Data access, quiteness, comfort and resale value. I dont care for size, looks or even durability. Can y...

Re: Newbie seeks advice - No access to DME
Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for all the advice. Im surprised to hear that resmed may not allow shipment outside of USA, I'll check with the dealer. If so, I'll just use one of relay services that posts anywhere for often less than the dealer.

Newbie seeks advice - No access to DME
Hi, I know im asking alot for people to read all this and help me out, but I'm in a difficult situation in that I live in Malta, Europe and dont have easy access to CPAP equipment other than through extremely expensive importers (roughly 2-3 times the cost of directly importing from USA). The waitin...

Re: Resmed card reader + software
Hi, I am also very interested in this since I would like to purchase an S8 autoset II but in my country the doctors do not have the software and so I would need to access the data and print it out for them to interprete.
