Re: Used Melatonin? Comments Please

I've taken 3 mg of Melatonin periodically over the past several years at bedtime when I have trouble going to sleep. It makes me sleepy within 20-30 minutes. The problems I find with it are I will often awaken after about 3 hours of sleep and cannot get back to sleep unless I take another 3 mg of Me...

Re: CPAP Cannot be Checked Luggage?

Two months ago my husband and I flew from Atlanta to Buenos Aires. We carried both of our cpaps in a carry-on size suitcase on wheels which fit in the overhead bin. That way the cpaps were "double bagged." Going through security in Atlanta, we were required to open the carry-on suitcase and open the...

Re: Nasal Mask Worked

I got a trial Resmed nasal mask from my RT and to my surprise no mouth leaks. It has only been 2 nights but seems to work well. I never thought I could succeed with anything other than a FF. This may be the solution the wife needs with hers, she leaks all night since pressure was increased. Rt pref...

Re: Cruise with cpap

My husband and I both have cpaps and agree with bringing a multi plug outlet and an extension cord. We just returned a month ago and I had a terrible time with nasal congestion which affected my sleep and cpap use. As we were packing up to leave the ship, I moved the lamp table beside the bed to che...

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available

As I said in an earlier post, this software worked perfectly last week in my Windows Vista Basic which is 32 bits. Today my husband tried to install it in his Windows Vista 64 bit and it would not work. Same message as posted above. "Needs an X86 processor." When he called the technical support for ...

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available

Windows Vista If you have Windows Vista, there are two methods to determine whether you are running a 32-bit or a 64-bit version. If one does not work, try the other. Method 1: View System window in Control Panel Click Start, (button in the lower left hand corner on your screen) type system in the ...
Do you know if your Windows Vista is 32 bit or 64 bit?
No, I'm sorry I don't. The sticker on my computer says Windows Vista Basic.

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available

I still don't think there have been any posts from anyone who actually has this software. We are all just speculating. Am I wrong? If I am it would be nice to get a review from an actual user. I ordered this software from talkaboutsleep.com for $139 last Monday, April 19. It was shipped the same da...

Re: Two cpap users in fam. Experience dealing with CA's?

In the beginning, I think it's helpful to identify and isolate your most urgent problems, then tackle them one at a time. From your post, they seem to be: 1. congestion 2. mask too tight, pressing on sinuses 3. concern about Centrals Do a search on threads discussing congestion, for what has worked...

Re: Two cpap users in fam. Experience dealing with CA's?

I doubt Clear Airway apneas can be caused by a stopped nose - those would be obstructive apneas. Did you have any central apneas during your titration? What pressure did they titrate you on, and what pressure are you using? Are you using CFlex or AFlex? I would change that - use it if you aren't, s...

Two cpap users in fam. Experience dealing with CA's?

In January 2010, my husband and I were both diagnosed with sleep apnea. Two years prior, we'd gone to see a sleep specialist (who was a personal friend) and I told him I suspected we BOTH had apnea. (my husband was unaware either of us had a problem and thought it was a waste of time and money seein...

Re: I Want To Save the World...

Poor DoriC! That just sounds awful! Something is wrong. I know that people with CA's have a harder time and may need a different kind of machine. The congestion can cause problems, too, but I wouldn't think the kind of problems you're having. What kind of mask do you have? I'm so sorry you're feeli...

Re: scooterpagan's distress

Welcome to the forum. We all knew nothing, when we started. It's actually a good thing that you have time before you get your cpap, to do some research, so you will know about cpap and masks, before you are given one. Read as much as you can, so you can be informed and proactive in your treatment. ...

Re: I Want To Save the World...

LeeLee, I know just how you feel. This is a very sore subject with me. I often wonder where my husband would be today if I didn't take on his diagnosis and therapy like a dog with a bone. Of course I didn't have OSA and all the symptoms and health issues that go along with it so he was in a better ...
