Re: Major head cold
I have used a nasal mask thru several head colds. I use an over the counter nasal spray before bed. With that and the pressure helps open my nose. It's not comfortable but it is tolerable.

Re: How often do you clean your stuff?
I put my mask in the dishwasher every few months. The hose and the headset don't get cleaned. That may sound gross but most people sleep every night without a mask or filter! I replace my mask whenever I can't keep it from leaking.

Re: My Dr said I could do a HOME SLEEP STUDY
You could at least try to sleep without it. I know you feel that you can't sleep without the mask After thinking about it a while, I decided to try. I went to bed at 9:30 and gave up the test at 2:00. It felt like I would just fall asleap and then wake out of breath, about every 15 minutes. I did c...

Re: My Dr said I could do a HOME SLEEP STUDY
.mike, can you elaborate -- What was the purpose of the home sleep study? Documentation for insurance? Checking on the status of your untreated apnea? Other? I asked for a script for insurance. I have been on a machine for many years. I have been using machines from Craigslist and thought I could g...

My Dr said I could do a HOME SLEEP STUDY
I thought that would be a great idea. I expected that someone would provide me with a cpap machine and and something to put on my finger. What I got was a chest strap, a finger thing, and prong hoses to lay in your nose. Nothing like a cpap mask. I can't sleep without my mask and this was not going ...

Can you trick your APAP to change presure?
Maybe if I hold my breath will it bump up a little?
I have tried just for fun to breath thru my mouth and get it to shut off but that don't work.

Good morning. Please fill out " user control panel" "profile" "edit equipment". This will help a lot for us to be more specific.
I get this occasionally and can get thru it by using vicks vapor rub on my nose, and that is about it.
I hope you get lots of suggestions.

Re: Problems with nasal mask
I had a mirage mask that didn't have a forehead thing, for several years and it was a annoying and leaked a lot, but I didn't know any difference. About a year ago I tried a mask from http://www.cpaplibrary.com/mask-trials.html . They don't sell masks but they let you try them for a week for the pri...

Re: Another newbie ? about online DME's
I have bought a couple machines from craigslist.org and you do need to know how to set the machine and know what your buying. Often the seller don't know what they have. Usually they are willing to take pictures or read model numbers from the machine. The used market is very different than retail. I...

Re: Can you believe this crap????
I almost never meet my deductible. So I buy my masks online and get my machines from http://www.Craigslist.org . I have bought a couple machines for about $100 each. If I would have got it thru my insurance, I would have to buy new and would have cost me way over 100.

Re: Some questions for my husband
I have to itch under my mask sometimes, but the sleep I get with the mask greatly offsets the discomfort.
