dry mouth
I find myself recently waking a time or two a night with a very dry mouth. This dryness is much more than the typical dryness due to sinus meds and such. I use an optilife mask, papcap and tape mouth so am relative sure no mouth breathing here. Any ideas as to potential cause?

Re: Finally, Sleep Success
DoriC, The LED screen is all currently have for the data; however, it indicates my AHI average around 4 and the leak rate is zero. The setting is straight CPAP with a ramp beginning at 10 and increases for 30 min; humidifier is set at 3. The CPAP was originally set without C-Flex. I discovered that ...

Finally, Sleep Success
I have received a lot of support from reading the trials and successes from others in this forum so though I would add mine. I was placed on CPAP in March of this year with an 18 pressure setting. Of course I began CPAP feeling lousy and it quickly got worse; couldn’t sleep, tossed and turned, leak ...

AHI question
I have a PR System 0ne REMStar Auto A flex CPAP. The device instructions indicate that it (the CPAP) accumulates AHI for each session the patient uses the device. The screen displays the average of these individual AHI for each session. My question is: is this an average AHI per hour or average AHI ...

CPAP v APAP
I have been on the CPAP for about 6 weeks. The first month was rough but I survived almost 100% compliance. Now it seems I finally adjusted to the CPAP and OptiLife Mask. Feeling fairly good but still waking early. I recently notice my AHI moving upward from 3.7 to now at 7.5. With knowledge obtaine...

Re: Newbie here.
Good Morning. This is a great board and you will be able to find answers to most any question that might come up. It is a shame Tyler has to deal with this at such a young age however many of us lived with this disease for many years and suffered without knowing what was happening to our bodies and ...

Re: tape over mouth and cheeks blow up?
I also have this same problem and still adjusting to it. I use the OptiLife Nasal pillow cushion with high (18) pressure, quite a challenge. Not only did I have the balloon cheeks but would frequently swallow some of the air. Make for an interesting next day. I added a chin strap and Polident strips...

Re: CPAP NOT THE ONLY SOLUTION
Well Sir for me, these remedies did not help. These things did and still do indeed make me feel generally healthier but did absolutely nothing for my sleep apnea and the resulting symptoms. What did help was discovering my only other choice was surgery that only has a 50% (as explained to me) to may...

Re: My one month anniversery TODAY!
I like this post as well. Three weeks in for me. This site is God sent. So many things to adjust to and here one discovers he/she is not alone with these issues. Also Dave, as much a challenge is CPAP, it is much better than the early dementia I though was upon me.
