Re: Weight Watchers: Eat All the Fruit You Want

I've lost 30 pounds on the new points plus WW plan. I'm at a plateau now though and would like to lose 20 more pounds. Fruit is a healthy snack, and the WW plan teaches healthy eating over all. The WW leaders tell you that free fruit does not mean eating 20 bananas in one sitting. It means that when...

Re: PR System One Heated Humidifier Tank, Won't Fill

I have the very same system. The first chamber I had did develop a crack. They crack easily. It's hard to spot the crack because I believe it cracks around the metal heating plate on the bottom. It would leak, and it would be wet/damp under my machine in the morning. This will also affect the humidi...

Re: Do you tape your mouth or use a chin strap?

If you have to "tape" your mouth shut to use the mask or use a chin strap how awful. It seems like you should be using a full face mask like I do. I have a relative who uses a nose only mask and has no problems that require a chin strap or tape--he is not a mouth breather. If your mouth falls open t...

Re: PR System One Remstar

I have this machine too. I have been using it for a year, and I have had no problems. How are you to know if the pressure drops in the middle of the night? That is concerning. I have lost about 20 pounds now, and I have noticed that I may need a pressure change. It doesn't quite seem to be working a...

Re: How many teeth do you have?

I had four incisors pulled when I was 10 to make room for my teeth before I got braces. I currently have all of my wisdom teeth. I wonder if they should have widened my pallet instead as they did with some of my friends. I was recently told that I need braces again at 45 for a slight cross-bite, but...

Re: Padacheeks/Karen is a genius! comparted to comfort gel pads

Hello, I have been purchasing the comfort gel pads on-line. They work but are somewhat expensive, considering they only last about a month to six weeks. I have really scrutinized the pad-a-cheek nose protector on-line but it looks like an uncomfortable wool/cotton strip that would not protect your n...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.

Hello everyone! This is a success story!! I have waited several months to make this post. First off, I would like to note that this string is supposed to be about success stories to encourage people. I have noticed that many have used it to complain about their lack of success in using cpap after a ...

Re: what does your AHI look like with a FULL FACE MASK??!!!

Hello, I started cpap therapy on April 8th. As of May 8th, I had a 30 day average AHI of 2.5 per night. I got a size smaller mask a week ago and my 7 day average AHI is 1.5 for the last week. We will see what it is for the month. The AHI with the the medium size mask was good, but I noticed leaking ...

Re: Poll: GERD and Sleep Apnea

I have never been diagnosed with Gerd, but I have had acid reflux on occasion. Since I have started cpap therapy it does seem to have lessened. In fact, I guess I was having it almost daily for a while lately (just in the last year). Within the last month, I have only gotten once it when I ate some ...

Re: Regis Is a Dropout--his sleep study video attached

It's a shame he isn't using it. I guess he doesn't care about having a longer lifespan. I just don't think CPAP is bad at all. I have been using it for a month. My appetite has decreased, which is so great!! He is kind of obnoxious but I think it was brave of him to show his sleep study to everyone....

Re: Has anyone used the Contour Products CPAP Pillow?

I just got this exact pillow. Faye is correct about it needing and extra bit of foam underneath. I got the medium pillow based on my weight but it is a little too flat. Right now I have a towel under it, but I think I will buy a piece of foam. Other than this issue, I have been sleeping much more co...

You should be able to find out which mask you like at the second sleep study. They will let you try them all. It's very individual.

Re: I never had headaches but now I do, cpap?

Thanks Marie, This was the post you referred to me: I have the same troubles. I found that despite the setting on my built-in humidifier, I still wake up with a dry mouth or sinuses. I have had success with these steps and I suggest you try it... 1. "Pre"-humidify your bedroom. Buy a tabletop humidi...

Re: I never had headaches but now I do, cpap?

DLB, Good idea.. if the headache doesn't improve by adjusting humidity--and it has become more humid in Florida this last week so this may be the issue, it is probably the mask or pressure. I don't really want to put it at a higher pressure, but it is what it is I guess if I need to do so. I would p...
