Re: Unable to fine tune my setting to improve AHI.
I might suggest that if you've tried all those different setups in only 2 months, you aren't giving things a chance to stabilize after the change. Do you even have leaks under control in just 2 mos? Something as simple as a mask leak can toss all your fine-tuning out the window. Patience, Grasshopp...

Re: Unable to fine tune my setting to improve AHI.
I appreciate the responses guys. I think I mentioned that while running in APAP mode, after my first event, the machine stays pretty close to pegged to the upper value. The highest I have run it is 10cm, and even at that level I start to feel as though and air bubble is stuck in my throat. I have ne...

Unable to fine tune my setting to improve AHI.
I have been on xPAP now for almost 2 months. I have a Resmed S9 Autoset w/ the Climate Control hose and a Quattro full face mask (I can not breathe very well through my nose). I spent about 10 days with the original setting of 7cm (my sleep setting titration was 6) and found a variance of 0.9 (lowes...

Re: Graphics from First Night with CPAP
Thanks for the information. I currently have an S9 Autoset w/ the H5i humidifier and the slimline tubing (climatline is supposedly on order). The mask I use is a full face mask (the resmed quatro) so mouth leaks shouldn't be a problem. I use the full face mask because I often cannot breathe adequate...

Re: Finally got my first xPAP (Resmed S9)
I also noticed that when I got up it logged 7.5 hours of sleep, but there were no numbers listed for AHI. Does the S9 have to go some time without use before it updates the statistics? Did you see 7.5 hours of usage on the S9 or was that blank too? It shouldn't be blank, did you have the SD card in...

Graphics from First Night with CPAP
Ok, I pulled the data and here are the charts (from S9 Autoset). I went with CPAP mode, 7 cmH20 (my titrated setting), no ramp, humidity 3.5. I fell asleep on my back (my worst position for SA) at 11:30pm and subjectively I felt like I slept straight through to 5:00am when I woke up and went to the ...

Re: Finally got my first xPAP (Resmed S9)
I will take a look at that as soon as I get home. I don't remember any setting of that sort on the main menu, only a numerical "humitidy" setting.

Re: Finally got my first xPAP (Resmed S9)
Slept my first night on the machine. Despite having the humidity set for 3.5 I was definately dried out when I woke up. I usually sleep through the night, occasionally get up once to use the restroom. Last night, the first with my CPAP, I slept from 11:30pm - 0500am straight without waking (and on m...

Finally got my first xPAP (Resmed S9)
Took them a while to order it and get it in stock, but at lunch time today I finally got my S9/H5i (they forgot the climatline, but will order it for me). I tried to take a nap after setting it up, but I couldn't get to sleep (likely had something to do with the half caraffe of coffee I drank at wor...

Re: distilled water
However methink we have spent way too much time and gigabytes of harddisk on water mater while so far nobody bother to question electrical power quality. this is far more important. In fact, my CPAP;s motherboard was fried (I suspect due to unstable voltage) when travelling last year. The cost of r...

Re: ARRGH!!!!!!!!
Sounds like a good deal, if you ever get the equipment you want. I should be getting what I asked for, but I have had to wait an extra two weeks because of it (and I still need to pay %30 of their inflated cost). Big FYI though, if your going to throw around derogitory comments (well deserved or oth...

Re: Sleep Apnea Insults?
All good suggestions, though many seem targetted at a significant other / person currently wearing a mask. This is a friend from work, so neither of those really apply (unless for some reason he brought his equipment in to work for a nap).
Thanks.
Thanks.

Sleep Apnea Insults?
So I will be getting my equipment delivered and setup this monday (two weeks from my test, but at least I am getting exactly the machine / accessories that I asked for). Meanwhile, one of my co-workers (also a CPAP user) has resorted to calling me a future hose head. I am fine with that, but I wante...

Re: Brand new, need help working with DME.
Went with Lincare as I mentioned. They don't carry the S9 so they have to order it (not sure how long this will take). When all is said and done I should be getting the S9 Autoset with Climatline and the ResMed Mirage Quattro mask. According to Lincare my insurance will cover 70% of the cost so I sh...

Re: Brand new, need help working with DME.
Thanks for the help guys. I talked with the DME that I think I will be using and thay said that if I do not want the S8 Auto II they can order the S9 for me. Further, I talked with the nurse at the Dr's office and she said that it will be a couple more days before they send the script out and that s...
