Been a CPAP user for 20 years. It changed my life a lot but have a concern. The question I have struggled with for some time and am looking for ideas is how to get better quality of sleep.. Here goes: Have a respironics autosense 10, Settings are at 9 with a high of 14. I came up with that after wat...

REM sleep

Have been a user for over 15 years, and track my results. Most nights are below AHI of 1 with maybe one or two centrals. Mask is a nasal pillow and leaks are kept manageable. The CPAP has been a life altering thing in that I never fall asleep at stoplights anymore!!!! I also usually get 7 hours or m...

Review Request

I have been on CPAP for about 15 years and in the last month I received a new Airsense 10 machine. The old one was a Resemed S9 auto. Over time I have slowly tweaked the settings so the low is 9 with the higher limit 14. I never seem to go past the high limits so it seem ok. For the most part the AH...

Type of data card

I have been using SH for a number of years and my data card is a SD card. As such I purchased a universal card reader. My neighbor asked me to read his treatment and he gave me his card. It says resscan data card, is small plastic about 1/2 inch wide by 2.5 inches long with a gold foil on back. Will...

Re: Looking for Comments

Sorry, here is the data, I am only on one med for hypertension, (have had that since 19) and a low dose aspirin just as a precaution. I do have one carotid with 50% blockage but they are just watching that and are not overly concerned. Sugar normal, usually 100-120 depending on how close to eating. ...

Looking for Comments

I have been a long time CPAP user (15 years) and have used this forum to make things better for my life. Without you as a group I would not have known where to start. Up until about 9 months ago I had consistent AHI's of under 1, which was fabulous. Lately I have noticed that they have been creeping...

Watching Data

I can definitively show people how important it is to read data from a capable machine and I hope you newbees read this. Over the years I have read my own data on the various machines using sleepy head program. At first it was just curiousity, but after a while I began to take charge. I started off ...

Re: Sleep aids

Sorry I updated my profile. I use the sleepy head software and view it quite often. There is nothing that alerts me of why I wake up. I have tried ambien but like the other thing, I don't think you get good sleep. Without being in a sleep clinic its hard to know if you go into rem sleep. I believe u...

Sleep aids

First have been on CPAP for about 10 years. Recently went from a CPAP to an auto and through tweaks and some other things have managed to get my ahi from around 5 to less than 1 most nights. However, one of my early concerns was that I wake up 2 or 3 times per night, usually without reason. To try a...

Making a choice between machines

Ok, have read a lot of information on the top two auto machines, the PR S 1 and the S9 auto. I will be replacing an auto Respironics M Series which I use now and I have been well satisfied with it. Because of tweaking I now have routine AHI numbers of about 1 to 2 so I want to stay with an auto. I h...

Encore pro version

I am running version 2.2.14 of encore pro. My system is a windows xp and the card reader is the DT 3500. My question is I see newer versions of encore pro (2.4) and wonder if the upgrade is worth going through the hassle? Does any one have experience in both, and if so what are the differences? Than...

Re: Improve Treatment

Sorry, the pulldown menu does not seem to show a encore 2.2.14 pro. I am using the pro. As to the hybrid, I showed all nights of leaks and the machine shut off a number of times thinking it was not hooked up. So, I will go back to the nasal pillows and see if I can get them better and make slight im...

Re: Improve Treatment

I am using Encore version 2.2.14? I also am using the Swift FX with medium pillows. I check every night to make sure the internal cones are not inverted. I think I do have a good seal since I can't detect leakage. I have tried cleaning the pillows every night. The pillows are 6 months old, which I c...
