Re: Sore, red bridge of nose....
I'm finding this discussion very confusing! It's not my forehead that needs anything, it's about an inch across the bridge of my bony nose that is inflamed and sore has heck, to the point I can't use the mask more than two nights before I can't use it for about 5 or more days and then the problem be...

Re: Sore, red bridge of nose....
I want to thank each of you for your suggestions. As I said, I'm allergic to adhesives, so band-aids are out, but when my nose gets better I will try each of the other ideas. If I can get another mask to try, what are some others that might work? I've only slept with this one 4 nights and Lincare is...

Sore, red bridge of nose....
I'm trying to find a FF mask and am trying the Quattro, but I'm a side sleeper and it digs into the bridge of my nose. I kept waking up last night and trying the screw to take the pressure off my nose. What am I doing wrong? It's a small which should fit. I am allergic to adhesives, so putting somet...

Re: please recommend good pulse oximeters with sd cards
Can anyone recommend one that will download to a Mac? Or maybe one that will tell me when my blood gas goes below a certain level? My doctor had Lincare bring one of theirs and do an overnight and it showed me at 70? percent for over 4 hours, and I'm doubting the reliability of that. I also don't wa...

Re: new to cpaptalk
Hello My name is Deborah and I am new to this site. I have been using my cpap machine for several months (not everytime I slept) and I am trying to get used to it. I really didn't realize how serious my sleep apnea was until I went to my sleep doctor yesterday and he scared me by what he told me. I...

Re: Frustrated Newbie - noise problems
Hi, I'm at week 2 with CPAP, 10 cm pressure, F-P Zest nose mask and becoming increasingly frustrated. I know it's unreasonable to have expected a miraculous change, but the first three mornings after CPAP were amazing! Now that my sleep debt has lessened, my ability to stay asleep with my CPAP has ...

Re: What kind of mattress do you prefer?
I have a bad low back, so bought a memory foam one and it's hot to me. It also is getting a bit worn. Once I had a latex and loved it...anybody have a thought about one today? I put it on a hard frame instead of box springs so is firm enough for me.

Re: Gasping?

I do it when Im awake and asleep... or just trying to get to sleep.. if I am relaxed and thinking about something.. I sometimes dont ...

Re: Gasping?
I have not had that, but just tossing this out there.. maybe it could be a response to an awake apnea? I know I forget to inhale while I am awake sometimes.. if I had let it go too long, perhaps I would gasp, as one does when they are asleep from an apnea.. I don't know what an awake apnea this is,...

Gasping?
I have for years had a 'gasping' reflex and my pulmonolgist had no idea what I meant by it. I do it multiple times a day...just an unplanned sudden 'gasp' and then It goes away for a bit. It has no pattern, no warning, just happens. I don't understand it...Has anyone else had it and can explain?

Re: Sleep Apnea With COPD Boosts Mortality (without CPAP)
Agreed, sort of a Duh! conclusion. The most redeeming part of the article imho is "Patients with COPD should be screened for obstructive sleep apnea because if present, its treatment is associated with improved outcomes," said lead author Dr. Jose M. Marin of Hospital Universitario Miguel Servet, Z...

Re: nasal pillow 4 side sleeping???????
can someone please recommend a type or brand of nasal pillow that is good for side sleeping. thanks I use Resperonics Opti for that and they fit me perfectly after a short breaking in period. I wear a sleep mask over it and it holds things in place and as a dedicated side sleeper it works great for...
