Re: Self-medicated oxygen supplementation
Two things: Besides just AHI numbers are you looking at your graphs? I wasn't feeling tip top despite good numbers, and the graphs showed that I was hanging out on the "ceiling" of my pressure setting. That resolved by increasing my max pressure just a little. Definitely do a few nights with your re...

Re: Airsense 11 autoset wireless concerns
My first Airsense 10 was bought and paid for immediately--I didn't have Medicare then. So I turned on airplane mode and left it on, since I didn't have to prove my usage to insurance. IF you have Medicare, then make sure the SD card is installed and you can take it to your DME or doctor to prove usa...

Re: Is there a better CPAP device for me?
It's not the machine. People having difficulty adjusting to CPAP have the following issues, in order of frequency: 1. The mask is uncomfortable, leaky, noisy, or just cannot get used to it. 2. The settings on your machine. a. Typically your provider may have put you on a ramp setting where the press...

10 cm H2O? That's not enough; my prescription is 17. This petition isn't intended for people with severe OSA, it's meant as an accessible means to obtaining treatment for people with mild to moderate OSA which make up 82% of the undiagnosed population. Extreme Daytime Sleepiness is found in a major...

Re: CPAP airflow with mouth closed and not inhaling
CPAP's are CONTINUOUS positive pressure devices. Even when you are exhaling, there is still some airflow creating pressure to keep your airway open. The pressure never goes to zero. And some CPAP machines send a noticeable puff of air if you are not inhaling after a certain number of seconds to test...

Re: CPAP with generator
I have this: https://a.co/d/d8Gewi7 It gives me a full night (without humidifier) on a charge, and you can charge it by wall outlet, plugging into the car cigarette lighter, or if you have a solar panel (solar panel does NOT come with the $99 version). You can buy larger ones with more power. No no...

Re: Trying a new style mask...Full face to Nasal
Most people mouth breathe when they have apnea because of air hunger. Once they are getting appropriate treatment for their apnea, the need to mouth breathe goes away unless you have issues like sinus congestion or nasal polyps or some other problem. You will be able to see on your data if you are m...

Re: Exagerrated adrenaline surges from sleep apnea
I noticed it most when driving. For some reason, it really freaks me out to be in the far left lane with opposing traffic or a solid barrier on my left-hand side. This makes bridges and tunnels very anxiety producing as well. It was about 1000 times worse before treating my OSA with CPAP. Now it sti...

Re: Not enjoying CPAP
Are you waking because of mask leaks? I don't know if the Luna has a mask fit button, but if not you can simulate it as follows: Set the pressure for your highest pressure (15). now fit the mask to your face so that it doesn't leak in your usual sleeping position. Then reset the pressure back to you...

Re: 5 Year Replacement & Medicare/Insurance
Any new machines I have seen always have ZERO run hours. For sure I am going to check the run hours when the RT sets it up for the demo and instructional session. I already have an AS10 (bought it here a few years ago) so am familiar with getting into the menus. I did find some comments in a Reddit...

Re: Feeling discouraged: Doctor called my APAP a failure after two nights based on a physical observation.
What an arrogant @$$hole of a doctor you ended up with! There's no reason to feel discouraged because he was a JERK and his advice was terrible. It does NOT mean you or your APAP treatment is a failure. He is a failure. And the only thing discouraging about that visit is that he gets paid to ...

Re: Inspire device
I met someone for whom the inspire worked very well, but (maybe because this is a CPAP forum) she is the only one I've heard about had good results. She was relatively young and did not get much relief from her primary symptom (cognitive impairment) from CPAP.

Re: anyone use light blocking eye masks?
I like to use my phone for "white noise" to help me sleep. I use inexpensive wireless sleep phones that are like a headband with soft speakers over the ears. I pull it down over my eyes, too, because our window coverings don't shut out enough light, especially this time of year. This blocks out the ...

Re: Mask issue with under nose type mask
What about this: https://www.cpap.com/products/dreamwear-full-face-cpap-mask-with-headgear ? This is a full face mask, based on the Dreamwear nasal cradle mask. ("Cradle mask" is my term, not an official term--it cradles your nose with an air cushion) If you find that once you are comfortable with t...
